  1. Tyler Johnson

    Nick Cousins

    Sammy Blais

    Tyson Barrie

    Justin Schultz

    Oliver Kylington

  2. mephnick

Kind of surprised no one has taken a run at Kylington

  3. BroliasBoesersson

Wouldn’t mind Kylington if they end up keeping Hughes-Hronek together this season, it would really leave our bottom four without much on the way of puck-moving outside of Myers

Hard pass on Nick Cousins. JR/Allvin can make this team a pain in the ass to play against without adding that fucking weasel and he’s not really better than any of the guys he’d be trying to replace.

Schultz is a former Rutherford guy, believe he can move the puck. I’d keep my eyes on that one

I would like to see Brisebois get a chance to come up assuming he is healthy this year. He was looking like our seventh defense before the preseason injury last year.

I don’t see Phil the Thrill on that list. 😤

I know he flopped in Abby practices and barely skated but that’s a different circumstance and you can’t expect him to come back in game shape in such a short days notice. Give him another chance and let the man hit his streak! 🥹

Idk who any of these guys take out of the lineup apart from Kylington honestly. You’re just signing waiver fodder

Schultz is worthwhile depth, keep in mind after leaving Edmonton he went to Pittsburgh and was one of the first Dmen to fall under the Gonchar whispering to turn into a good 2nd pairing Dman.

Kylington is a guy you can gamble on because you believe he’s a top 4 guy despite him not playing a lot. If you believe he can be a top 4 guy by midseason worth signing a 2 year deal and having him compete with Soucy and Forbert through the season for playing time. Forbert can slot in against bigger grinder teams while Kylington can slot in against faster teams that Forbert can struggle with.

I wouldn’t touch Barrie with a 10 foot pole. Our bottom 4 needs to be able to take regular defensive shifts and to take the bulk of the PKs to give Hughes and Hronek a breather. Barrie is a puck mover but he doesnt play any PK, Barrie would be the kind of dman that sees maybe 13 mins a night and we really want to avoid that.

  10. Our weakpoint is the 3LHD. The only suggestion that makes sense is Oliver Kylington. I suspect we will leave Forbort there and wait to fix it within the season after cap space accrues.

I think Schultz is the only one that could actually help the team. Not a sexy addition but a solid depth addition who can fit into the type of game Tocchet wants our d to play.

But…he was paid 3 million last year. I wouldn’t want him for anywhere near that much. Maybe 1.5 to 1.8 million for a guy that can still play a clean 15-18 minutes a night.

This list is garbage . Nhl beat reporters should just take an offseason layoff and enjoy the lake

Would be down for cousins he knows what he’s doing even if it’s dirty

I’d take a chance on a one year deal for Kylington. Low risk, huge potential reward if he could return to form from two years ago.
