What do Preds fans think about this?

    IMO-

Stamkos didn’t get brought in to be a game breaker. We lack PP firepower. We lack a consistent scoring threat on our 2nd line (and 3rd).

I would rather him put up another 15+ pp goals and less 5-5 goals than the inverse. So I guess 25-30 goals would be great. That puts him still in top 3 goal scorers in the team On paper, between Marchessault and Stamkos we added +82 goals between them. That’s the difference in our 1st round exit and a run.

What I do expect is scoring for others to improve since now we have actual depth scoring threats. They can’t just try and shut down our top line, which will be a drastic change from last year.

Is it really a revenge tour if he puts up less point than he has in each of the last 3 seasons

He scored 40 last year, I certainly hope he puts up at least that again, but these stats wouldn’t represent some sort of revenge tour, if he put up a 100 point year maybe. To be clear, Tampa moved on because they didn’t want to allocate that much cap to a player turning 35 when they could get a player who was 29 and better 5v5. Stammer is still very lethal on the power play, but has lost a step 5v5.

I do hope he doesn’t decline very hard overall like a lot of people seem to be expecting/hoping. But I think trotz is hoping for consistency and help on the PP both of which is stamkos to a T. Even if he drops 10 pts next season he’ll have deepened our depth by a large margin and made our PP more dangerous.

Before even considering what Marchy could pull out and help. And then if Juice comes back strong and Josi keeps being himself plus fil doing the same? I think people are underestimating them and ROR for being ‘not as good as kucherov or hedman etc.’ When they can’t POSSIBLY know how the team chemistry will actually play out.
