And a leafs fan proposed those trades? Would do neither one in a heartbeat

Personally, I don’t want a notorious playoff turd that costs 11m.

I like Saad, but he’s going to be in his mid 30’s by the time we’re competing again, might not be too bad to shed him, Faulk, and/or Schenn for a year of Marner. Yeah idk, not really a fan of even entertaining the idea of Marner.

No thanks. All that talent around him and he can’t win. Blues don’t have half the Toronto does so why would we want Marner?

I would do either of these trades in a heartbeat. Getting out of the Faulk and Schenn deals and getting a great regular season player (but not THE guy) and see how he does here. Although obviously I wouldn’t pay Marner what he wants for an extension, heck we could maybe even trade him at the deadline and recoup what we sent +. I see very little downside here

It’s really funny that the Toronto media bias is so strong it bleeds into other fanbases. Based on what you hear you’d think Marner has been shit in the playoffs but he’s actually been their best playoff performer in terms of production. It’s not really close either. Marner isn’t the problem, their cap structure is. If you can afford him you’d be stupid not to go after him. He’s a lock for 90+ points every year and is a good 2 way player. Never understood the hate.

I’d absolutely love Marner, this sub has lost their minds lol

Don’t even need to read the article. The headline is enough to say fuck off. When Capfriendly was still public, Leaf fans constantly proposed Marner to Blues trades and it got so old. We need better defenders, our offense is fine for now.

We don’t even know if Krug is going to have surgery or not yet. Even still hard pass.
