@Canucks de Vancouver

Zadorov voulait rester

Cela me dérange vraiment. Quand vous avez un talent comme Zadorov, qui est un favori des fans, vous faites en sorte que cela fonctionne quand il veut être ici. Ils auraient facilement pu faire fonctionner 5 millions.

This has gotta be a troll post lol

  2. MaximumSamage

Yeah, everyone wants to stay… at the right price.

  3. carry-on_replacement

Myers: leadership, is actually pretty good tactically according to players, and most importantly right handed

Blueger: took a discount to be here, excellent on PK and had chemistry with the third line, centers are hard to find this FA

There’s nothing “replacement level” about these two

  4. bendover456

Zadorov was great here but the Canucks dodged a bullet by not signing him to that contracts. He has been a 3rd pairing guy his whole career but he happened to have a great playoffs.

    > When you have talent like Zadorov

A career third pairing defenseman… should be paid a $5x6y… because he’s a fan favorite?

I mean, according to rumors nucks offered the guy a $5x5y anyways, so he obviously didn’t meaningfully prefer to be here. Followed his no$e

  6. StormMission907

Boston can have him at that price and term. No regrets here .

  7. NooberNihil

Sure he wanted to be here but he also wanted his bag. We all know this by now.

  8. LegendaryCanuck

We couldn’t have made 5mil for 6 years work for a career third pair defenceman lmao

  9. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrpp

This is like if Buble wasn’t witty or funny

  10. Nomad_0024

Maybe he shouldn’t have asked for 5 million a year as a 3rd pair dman and the Canucks coulda made it work.

I’m sure Bo Horvat wanted to stay too, but if we had signed him to the extension that the Islanders gave him, it would’ve anchored this team for the next decade.

  12. TheSimonToUrGarfunkl

It’s astounding you’ve managed to convince yourself Zadorov is more than a 3rd pairing defenseman because of 1 series

  13. I might regret saying this but I fully trust this management group decisions over my emotions & gut feelings.

Especially with the epic cleanup required after the last circus.

His cap hit and term where probably outside their vision for a 3rd pair D with excellent on ice agitation and off ice media skills.

I’d rather the money go to a skilled finisher winger so the 11.6m to #40 doesn’t go to waste.

Who knows, there isn’t just one right answer.

    I do miss his personality.

  14. _HoochieMama

Lmfao thank god you aren’t a GM!

  15. Signal-Rice-13

Sure he wanted to stay but he was only interested seeking the highest amount he thought he was worth. We have star players who took pay cuts because they genuinely wanted to stay with the team.

Don’t doubt what Rutherford and Allvin are doing. Z is gonna crumble in Boston, just watch. Guy is not as good as some of you make him out to be. Doesn’t help that we’re still paying for OEL as well.

  17. julesieee

As much as I loved Zaddy, Allvin is thinking long term and has to prioritize the core more (Quinn, Brock, Demko) as their contracts will also need to be dealt with in the future. And then you have the secondary players that the fanbase love like Garland and Hoglander that have been with the team longer than Z that will need renewals/extensions as well.

  18. thesunsetflip

Canucks had reportedly offered him $5M AAV to which he turned down. He obviously wanted more term in Boston, and got it

  19. Ruilin96

Allvin prioritized players willing to stay at a reasonable caphit. See Blueger, Joshua and Myers all took less than what they got in the open market.

Blueger could’ve gotten $2.5 million for 2 years as a UFA but stayed at $1.8 million for 2 years.

Joshua is a hot commodity and rumour has up to 12 teams interested and could get north of 4 million for 4 years but chose to stay here at $3.25 million for 4 years.

Myers had a really good season last year and someone might’ve given him a Joel Edmundson type of contract to him but he stayed for $3 million for 3 seasons.

I think Canucks management loves Zadorov and Zadorov would love to stay in Vancouver. But Allvin hopes he would do the same as Myers, Joshua and Blueger to stay at a discounted price. At the end they couldn’t agree on a number and term that would work for both sides. As good as Zadorov has been in the playoffs, his career stats has always been one of a third pairing defenseman. I love his personality on and off the ice and I think he brings a lot of a swagger to the team. However, it’s hard to justify paying Zadorov $5 million to likely play on the third pair. This is just business, in a perfect world, I would love to have him back but we have to make smart cap choices to fill the roster.

  20. crap4you

Rumours are Canucks offered 5×5 and he took 5×6. Did he really want to stay?

  21. FreeFour34

Has to be trolling. All Canucks fans loved Zadorov’s time here. Anyone who understands the money and decisions of hockey knows that term is ridiculous. We would all be screaming for Allvin’s head by the end of the season when he’d have been a healthy scratch multiple times. By next year Boston’s fans will be calling the deal a boat anchor. Give your head a shake.

  22. tirius99

Yeah this is the type of emotional Benning type extension.
Glad he’s gone and you’re not in charge

  23. mephnick

If he wanted to stay he’d be here. The Canucks made a fair offer.

He *wanted* to get overpaid. He was lying.

  24. JTMilleriswortha1st

The contract he signed in Boston was terrible. Thank god Allvin didn’t sign that. Z is great but we don’t need to give a player like that 5 years

  25. De_Floppss

I loved Zadorov here but he’s a 4/5/6 Dman but for his cost I’m glad we walked away as much as it sucked because he did play big for us in the playoffs.

  26. Ruffianrushing

Sounds like zomeone doesn’t want to get booed at the next vancouver game.

  27. hotknives

Some of you need to let go. At best he’s a 3rd pairing D who had a solid 3 weeks in the playoffs.

  28. ZackyGood

    Remindme! 9 months.

Gotta let this baby bad take grow. We’ll see who the real loser was then.

  29. ImAnAfricanCanuck

this is a really bad take. Why be so upset about this, Blueger was a vital part of the best third line we’ve had since 2011.

I’d rather have both Myers and Blueger, and still afford an adittional guy like Sprong than just Zadorov alone.

In the words of Mos Def: It’s a numbers game and shit don’t add up … you better learn how to add, it’s mathematics

  30. He got overpaid. If he wanted to stay, he would have taken what Allvin offered him. He plays what, 12 – 15 minutes a game?

  31. AhrimanicTrancee

This is absolutely the take of someone who jumped back on the bandwagon last year when the team was good again and clearly never watched the first 11 years of Zadorov’s career.
