I knew this was a Paul Hamilton article before I even opened it!

They are going to be like top-5 in the entire league in available cap space. What is it with the excuses?

I feel like Skinner was bought out a year early

We’re getting marner for the season? And giving up reimer? Okay I know the maple leafs need goaltending so just this once we’ll “help”

Maybe we can help someone free up cap space

Skinner buyout still isn’t clicking. Need a top 6 forward- trade Mittelstadt while leading the team in points then buyout Skinner 82 points, and +15 2 years ago. If you watch a lot of Tage/powerplay highlights in general, they involved a lot of Skinner being slippery or making pretty high IQ passes, being a menace in corners or in front… to say they are in win now mode but not even give their highest paid forward a chance at a bounce back season just shows how poorly this ship continues to be steered. It’s as if they didn’t even want to give Ruff a chance to coach him. Teaching defense at 32 years old seems crazy but it’s what got Ovechkin and the Capitals a cup. Even if he Olofsson’d and wasn’t buying in, I’d rather give him offensive zone starts and PP time. Edmonton giving him 3 million shows they still think he has game left and will value him in a top 9 role where he’s most likely gets McDavid, Draisaitl, or RNH on his line.

I’ve said it 8 million times, but maybe it’s time everybody else starts to realize KA isn’t a good GM. He should’ve been let go after the second failed coach attempt and bottom barrel seasons continued.
