  1. I'm not to thrilled with this hiring. I haven't heard that anyone is happy with it. If he wins this year is anyone going to say that he was the the builder of the team? I guess we will see what he does with Broberg, Holloway, Draisaitl and McDavid. If they do win this year, I think Jeff Jackson should take most of the credit. I also hope they talked to most of the players before hiring Stan to make sure there wasn't going to be a back lash from the players on this situation.

  2. Woah! Correct those stats! The architect of those stanley cup squads was tallon! Not stan….

Towards the end?? Its been like this from the start, signing brian cambell 7mill and shipping out big buff was the start….

  3. Until this man is no longer employed by the Oilers, my viewing eyes, my fandom and money are no longer available to this organization. This monster knowingly covered up a sexual assault of a young player in his employ, and this allowed the offender to act again and again. Working in the nhl is a privilege that this man abused and wasted.

  4. Time to stop buying tickets until Jackson and Bowman are let go. He didn't even win those cups with a team that he built himself. He was handed a great team.

  5. I think we at least owe JJ the benefit of the doubt here, I mean he’s been pretty spot on so far. I would imagine leadership was consulted before making any decisions. Let’s see how it plays out.

  6. Embarrassed and so disappointed with this. From such an amazing off season to this announcement today. Jackson also said he didn’t speak to any of the players about this, or before he hired bowman. I’m worried if this will affect any players in signing (particularly re-signing) here now.

  7. Should’ve hired Hunter or Gretzky. This guy is pretty much PC 2.0 and he’s going to destroy this team.

  8. I think Jackson wants to truly put his stamp on the team. I trust that he has done his due diligence and wants a fresh perspective. Behind the scenes JJ will be very much involved. Don’t worry Oil Country. This won’t derail what we have going here. I see Draisatl signing in the next two weeks.

  9. WHAT IN THE F…. I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT THE NEXT SEASON NOW I ACTIVELY ROOT AGAINST THIS TEAM FU FUFUFUFU OILERS

  10. This move de-railed all the good momentum that was being made since the playoffs.

Seems like this guy is Holland 2.0 at best with his GM moves.

  11. I agree Pat, not happy with his behavior, but putting that aside, he inherited a great team and kept if good for a couple years, but then the team tanked. Bad trades and contracts towards the end that could put the team back into a pit. I heard Jackson said he liked his views/aspiration that he would put forth for the team, but actions and words are totally different. He would have liked to win a cup with Chicago every year, but made some dud trades near the end.

  12. Bowman ruin the Hawks. Bowman will ruin the oilers. Just an objective view. Sorry oil country. A big WTF! Keith Gretzky would have made a better GM.

  13. This puts a dark cloud over a team on a mission. How will they respond? Why do this? He's no Sam Pollock nor a Bill Torey nor a Glenn Sather. So disappointing.

  14. may as well have rehired chirelli at least we know whats coming trade away assets until you build another last place team

  15. No way, this calls for a boycott! My God is there no one better ?? Mark Hunter ??? or other ones ??

  16. Man we were having such a good offseason hopefully he’s just a media puppet and Jackson is still running the show

  17. No no no hire Bowman
Aah this is like a policeman is unprofessional…and let back in force

No no no get a new professional GM for Oilers
    Stat
    🏒😇💒😇😇😇😇😇😇

  18. Put the past aside guy give him a change head back to the NHL. i think he's a good GM.

  19. Hi Patrick! Thanks for your level headed video about this news. Reading the comments seems that most people are vehemently against this move. For what its worth I appreciated seeing Sheldon Kennedy speak on this.

  20. Not impressed Patrick we need some more better and I hope our players better stay safe and our young ones too not good

  21. Time will tell if this was a good or bad hire. Not my choice but Jackson seems to know what he is doing. I have seen 11 GM’s as a fossil fan and none have got me to change teams since 1980. Thanks for the update

  22. Jeff Jackson says this is the guy, who are we to say otherwise. Jackson has been perfect in his decisions so far.

  23. Sens fan here. I'm honestly more boggled by this than anything the Sens have done over the past year, so I guess that's something. All I know is that I wouldn't go to a Sens game if this individual was anywhere near the franchise.

  24. Joe Biden; Hey I showered with my daughter, then I became President of the United States. C'mon man! 😂😮😅😊

  25. I've never seen another NHL franchise shoot itself in the foot, as much as this one………………. aside from Toronto.

  26. Bowman, Quenneville completely ignored what happened. Not sure you can call what they did a mistake. Cover-up and cover their butts might be a better way to describe the situation. How can you ignore sexual assault allegations and just move on as if nothing happened? They deserved to be suspended. They should be allowed to come back to hockey, but not in a position like this. ECHL would be better. Is this who we want dealing with Draisaitl? If I was Draisaitl I'd think twice about re-signing. He's buddies with Pastrnak, so maybe Boston would be a good fit for him. If it was me, I'd think twice about re-signing. Can Bowman be trusted? I agree that Dale Tallon was the main architect of the cup winners. I agree with the comments about Jeff Jackson. He was on a hot, hot streak. Now he has gone as cold as the middle of a January night. If I was an internal candidate like Keith Gretzky, I'd be major pissed off. Is there a connection between Bowman and Jackson? Quenneville going to be our next coach too?

  27. Bowman turned a stanley cup winning team (that he inherited) into a team resembling the Oilers of the decade of darkness. This was with a 29 year old Toews and 27 year old Kane. Horrendous GM
