1. If 27, 44, and 18 are isles third line isles are in trouble. And 44 not only scores little but anchors the nhl worst pk. 27 is not worth $7 mil. And 18 is useless. That's the problem with this team when you don't have the top talent to pay the big $$$'s to and build around them and just squeeze overpaid bums under the cap every year with no flexibility to make moves. Tsyplakov is an unknown wild card who still has to earn a spot and show he can play in nhl who like most euros wont stay in no. am. for ahl duty. Maybe Tsyplakov will earn third line spot and knock 18 off of third line? And 44 played with duclair with sens so that is another option for a line.
And pj judas leaving did leave the isles cap room to overpay 27 and squeeze a few other guys like 44 in yet that scoring has never been replaced up front six years later. Another inexcusable flub by louzer to neglect finding a big goal scorer because he has no cap room or assets to do that. And scorers like laine and necas (who will probably be traded for each other) still remain out there as louzer can't do shit once again to get scoring help up front.
And 29 has always been an underrated player because he plays on an uninspiring low scoring middling team yet still scores 30 every year even with drags like 18 on his line. The bigger question is what does louzer do with 29? Keep for another middling playoff run, trade at tdl for assets, or re-sign before hitting ufa after season? Well we know second option will never happen and louzer will probably re-sign 29 for three more years squeezing into limited cap space. And what if 29 has a fall off in production next season?

  2. They could’ve paid me $100,000 and i bet you I would’ve given more than Engval! He plays like he’s an egg and by that I mean he plays like any contact can break him than you have on the other wing a big man like Engval that will hit and play physical but skates like he’s playing in socks. I tell ya Lou is a genius

  3. Sorry but you read the last 10 and that was even more so that Nelson was dissed on this. I think at least in the top 50.

  4. I’m glad JT (Mr. Personality) is gone. Isles did better without him and the leafs have been, considering their roster terrible with him and are stuck with that paycheck lol.

  5. Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The Islanders need positive value out of their players that they signed. 3rd line JG Pageout, Pierre Engvall, and Anders Lee could use some more production. This line cost $15M in Cap Space, Lou Lamoriello, you ought to know better than that. You're right, The 3rd line also needs to do more than put the puck in the net, they need to throw their weight around. What were they thinking dissing Brock Nelson? I can't believe Connor McDavid is at the top of their list. He's got a funky attitude, and he's a sore loser, CONN SMYTHE TROPHY 🏆 WINNER OR NOT. Brock Nelson deserved better, WAY BETTER. I understand why John Tavares left for Toronto, he's back 🏡, but he should've been straight with the higher ups, and everytime The 🍁 come to UBS, he's been viciously booed. HAPPY 🎂, BARDORGH. He scored his only NHL goal on a penalty shot. Hear from you later, G, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  6. Brock is so modest it doesn’t matter. With Roy full year ..we got The Duke…Max from Russia is a monster…(thank you Shane Prince) ..new PK coach,.healthy De and don’t ride Sorokin….all points to winning the Metro…then Brock will get the last laugh.

  7. Brock was excluded because no one knows how good he is …he is better than many of those guys and is so modest. With Roy full year ..we got The Duke…Max from Russia is a monster…(thank you Shane Prince)…..new PK coach,.healthy De and don’t ride Sorokin….all points to winning the Metro…then Brock will get the last laugh.

  8. Good morning team. Gil, we know there are several contracts, on the Islanders, where the team isn't getting their bang for the buck. Once a player gets a contract like that, I would hope they would perform, on the ice, as much as that contract is worth. Do players tend to get comfortable in their big contracts? I would like to think not, but the numbers don't lie. Thank you, Gil. Everyone have a great day! See you all again next time. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!
