It’s probably best for Wahlstrom to avoid arbitration, because that meeting would not have been pretty for him.

By my count that means we have about $5.64 left in the cap. I hope that’s enough to get us 50-60 more goals a year. Mom I need a ride to the mall I need to go shopping mom I have $5.64 cents mom!

He makes the roster and bolduc gets sent down and both get traded

I mean someone needs to go barring an unforeseen LTIR submission.
Would think writing is on the wall for Wahlly and they are still going to try and find a trade partner before the season starts.

This is a bad signing lmao, even Holmstrom took less on a 1 year.
I assume they are going to do one of 2 things: 1) trade him; OR 2) stick him in the minors hoping that the cap hit is too high for a team to think about claiming him on waivers.
I’d guess it’s probably 1 based on what Lou said at the draft but this sucks lol

Has the “Put up or shut up” boat sailed yet?

I’m guessing the thought is bring him to camp and see if he earns a top 12 spot or someone gets injured who hits LTIR so you can carry him.
That said, I’m not sure what happens if he doesn’t make the team. We would have to waive him and if someone doesn’t claim him we’re still over the cap by a lot.
Either Lou’s got something cooking and a deal is coming or they think he’ll make the team or easily be claimed.
I’m leaning towards Lou still has something cooking. He hasn’t done his off-season is over press conference yet.

If he plays his way onto the opening night roster, someone has to be traded. Sending down one of Holmström/Fasching wouldn’t be enough to be cap compliant. He’s probably getting traded before then, the question is to who and for what.
