I like the idea of the Jets targeting Schneider. He'd be a good long-term solution to fit as an RD. Also, I wouldn't mind them targeting Jiricek from CBJ as part of a trade for McGoraty.

ReHabs: Agreed! Habs don't need more picks to take the team to the next level…they need to promote up to the big club from their prospect pool, parlay their other picks & prospects for bonefide forwards and a goalie. That's my recommendation to get Habs to the next level and start competing for a playoff spot.

I'm a Leafs fan and I've ve been seeing Montréal as a possible trade partner for some time….makes me feel a little uneasy but…should Mitch Marner decide not to extend,(which would be a pity!)…and he gave the ok to a trade…Montréal…another original six team that anyone should be happy to play for. The GM has 9 picks in the first 4 rounds of 2025 draft and an ample stock of prospects(!)…I was pitching a trade for Evander Kane around in my head today at the track during a run, but before that in recent days, Ive pondered different exchanges. I would dearly like us to have a 1st round pick in the '25 draft…and Montréal's second first rounder looks quite suitable as you pointed out(Calgary having the 11th overall pick would be perfect)…and a top prospect(Lane Hutson is a suggestion)…and a very good prospect like Oliver Kapanen…while taking on Christian Dvorak's expiring contract and that of Joel Armia…or Armia and either Gallagher's or Anderson's contracts. This would probably require a sign and trade for at least 2 or three more seasons, I'm guessing….and is equitable. And Mitch at 27 is only a few years older than the young corps and could really help Montréal's Offense, PP & PK. You want the trade to be even, fair and good for both teams!
