@Canucks de Vancouver

Combien de vrais gardiens de but numéro 1 y a-t-il dans la LNH ?

J’ai dû le lire deux fois pour m’assurer que Demko n’était pas sur la liste. Deuxième au vote Vézina et notre garçon est toujours méprisé.

    If two « TrUe No. 1 GoAlTeNdErS » are on the same team, does that make one of them less TrUe?

    Demko is a true number one, but Silovs is really good so idk

    Swayman has never played more than 44 games. Jfc.

    Demko is 2nd in sv% this season, this list is silly because it includes Bobrovsky Oettinger Swayman and Ullmark, Demko are definitely ahead of them, heck Bob was in one of the worse contract list not too long ago, and Oettinger was so mid this season, Swayman and Ullmark are on the same team, with 40 games each thow is that a no 1 goalie. I would still knock Demko off from « elite goaltenders » just because injury and last year he was pretty mediocre (.901% sv), tho not entirely his fault

    I’m happy at least my fave player was mentioned (roberto luongo) 🤗.

    But yea, not adding demko is a hockey crime!

    reading the comments, it looks like he wasn’t ruled to be a true no. 1 because he’s injury prone. Still think he deserves a spot tho

    Alright, time for Demko to play with that same chip on his shoulder that Hughes has. Vezina season incoming

    Demko needs a full healthy season to prove it. Ullmark and Swayman are not true No.1 though. Sportsnet is dumb.

    The list was definitely made by the writer going « okay what goalies do I remember off the top of my head » and then looking up some stats for each.

    It talks in the beginning about true number 1s and how goalies used to play more, but then picks guys picked 2 guys who shared a net. The list isn’t even related to its own intro.

    At least 20 true number 1 Goaltenders

    The best way to figure out if someone is a stat watching narrative reading nerd vs someone who actually watches hockey and has puck knowledge is to ask them their opinion on Thatcher Demko. People who actually know puck and use the eye test will tell you damn well that he’s a top 5 goalie if not better

    As far as I’m concerned, there’s only a handful of those workhorse No. 1s left who are akin to the days of Brodeur, Luongo, etc.

    Hellebuyck, Vasilevskiy, and Saros are pretty undisputed workhorses and arguably the top-3 goalies in the league

    Then you have guys like Sorokin, Georgiev, Markstrom, and Binnington, who have played a ton recently, but need to show they can do it with consistent results to enter the upper echelon.

    Demko also has the chance to enter that conversation, but injuries have really taken a toll – even in 2021-22 when he played 64 games, he bowed out of the season early due to injury. He will have to put together back-to-back seasons of healthy and elite hockey to really be considered the best of the best.
