Genuinely so confused with this situation. Every insider says he’s signed a deal, no official announcement ever happened, reports of his health are unclear and now he’s been spotted wearing his (supposedly) old team’s jersey? Did reporters jump the gun on this one or is there something more to this? Seems like a really shady situation to me…

Straight up weird that it’s a Finish event, yet he’s still rocking a stars jersey.
I’ll agree that this is all a bit fishy but also everything I know about Finns and especially Finns in hockey suggests to me that it’s totally normal for them to disappear into a forested area with no cell service for a week or two so I’m not that surprised that nobody’s responding.

My best guess is that he has a deal with the Leafs pending a physical. He’s most likely rehabbing his injury at home during the offseason and will come to Toronto closer to training camp where the deal will be made official if he passes the physical. Wearing a Stars jersey is a little odd but still makes sense to not wear another team’s jersey without an official deal. I wouldn’t worry about it unless the deal still isn’t announced by training camp
