  2. A bad throw to 2nd base on a steal attempt quite often nails the runner. I think you're gonna see catchers intentionally throw to the 1st base side of 2nd base in the future. I've seen it a lot lately. Heck, I think that those kinds of throws catch more runners than the accurate throws.

  3. From an art historical standpoint, I find it significant that the producers of these videos choose to show the umpires inspecting the hands of the starting pitchers. To the casual viewer these may seem like mere overflow images from the previous inning's highlights, but there is no reason these couldn't be cut out (the same way they don't show all the other players leaving the field) but for the fact that MLB wants to emphasize that they are enforcing this rule.
