  1. There’s no way the Oilers would’ve traded McLeod for someone like Krebs without some major sweeteners.

  2. Do you think Buffalo is considering Helenius to fill the void of Skinner? Is he on the level of NHL ready yet?

  3. Sabres fan here. Not a fan of GMKA’s recent moves. Byram is a good player, but the Mittelstadt trade was a big mistake. One could argue it sparked a series of problematic moves. We’re less talented in our Top 6, our mix on D makes less sense, our future salary cap will be hobbled by more dead money, etc…. Our Bottom 6 is better, and tougher, but you don’t win with your 4th line.

  4. I really didn’t like any of our moves in the offseason. We should’ve kept Skinner instead of replaced him with Zucker. As mentioned in the video, where’s the goals coming from? We added zero scoring and lost Skinner. We traded for a bunch of 4th-liners and now they will save us? Sounds like a bad plan.

  5. As a GM Adams gets an F since day one…go beyond that and Pegula also gets an F as an owner. The organization is a dumpster fire and as the team stands today the playoff drought will continue…
If you're going to trade Savoie then use him to acquire a legit top 4 RHD, not a 3rd line center. If this is the roster going into next season and the Sabres miss the playoffs AGAIN Adams should be fired.

  6. Skinner had to go. He’s probably worst forward, defensively in the league. He’s a veteran that doesn’t put in effort. A terrible example for the young players on the roster. Addition by subtraction. Also, the Canes got Nikishin and Kochetkov with the draft picks from the Skinner trade 😂, kinda crazy.

  7. LOVE what the Sabres did to their bottom 6
    Got tougher and grittier
They have ample firepower – that underperformed last season – in their top lines

  8. Savoie might be a great NHLer, but he’s 5’9, so he might not. He’s been fragile as well. If he makes it, it’s probably going to take a few more seasons. Was it an overpay? Maybe. But there really wasn’t a spot for him now, or in all likelihood, the immediate future. He was 4th on the Sabres prospect depth chart. He was expendable.

  9. GMKA had a great summer rebranding the BOTTOM6 to help season his team to a taste more fitting of new HC Lindy Ruff.

They no longer look like the JUNIOR SABRES on paper.

I'm hoping that Buffalo goes after Ryan McLeod's older brother Mikey McLeod as the 13th Forward.

Lindy Ruff loved him in New Jersey until an off ice scandal put him in Fitzgerald's dog house.

He's been a deplorable that's been left to be forgotten in Binghamton and is currently a FREE AGENT.

Sign him as the 13th forward and stick him in Rochester and let him play his way back into the league.

He's got the Lindy Ruff DNA to be a physical, dynamic BOTTOM6 role player that could add valuable depth for a young team looking to make a playoff push in 2024-2025.

Peyton Krebs doesn't have the BOTTOM6 DNA to fit in with the players GMKA brought in this summer.

and Jordan Greenway has the intangibles to be a great POWER FORWARD but his play is very uninspiring.

  10. I like the changes. For the simple fact that they have more potential to win puck battles. They were so soft on the four check something needed to change. They changed so let’s see how it goes.

  11. Good video. I give the Sabres a C- for their offseason, but it's not all Adams fault. the main problem is that FAs and trade targets with NTCs simply don't want to come to Buffalo. I like Ruffs hire, the first 2 draft picks and the attempts to get bigger, tougher, more defensive, and faster. The Savoie trade was horrible, the Skinner buyout is questionable, and there wasn't enough done to get a top line LW, an 3rd line RW, someone for the PP and Zucker was an overpay. I love your analysis.

  12. Sabres was top 5 in power play year before and Thompson an Tuck was hurt most last year they was back to normal end of the season.
Skinner was defensive liability if he wasn’t scoring.
They was last in the league in face off they improved that with 2 centers they sign or trade for.
Now need to keep door open for the kids in the system that are highly “skilled”who one may step up in training camp.
Okay Savoy was given his shot play only 2 shifts sent back afterwards
At the end of the season went to the AHL team in playoffs healthy scratch clearly there was something they weren’t happy with his game.
No room for him not going play on bottom 6 who would he replace on top 6 centers. They did right by kid in the end and got needed peace in return.
Very low grade from you not surprised in the end.
Sabres fans happy with most of the moves so far but they not done let!!
What kid steps up to play in the top 6 group?

  13. This year all but one top 15 prospects in the system wasn’t at development camp this year

  14. Krebs has been passed in the system trade coming or will be sent down AHL to find his game again.
Rochester will be a beast in AHL this year!

  15. As an armchair g.m., the team in my head will always be better than what Buffalo can field in real life. With that being said, I think I had a much better offseason than GMKA.

For kicks, I would have kept Mittelstadt and signed him for 3 years at around $6 mn AAV. That would have bumped Cozens to 1W, where I think he would be better. I would have traded for Rasmus Anderson at the draft, swapping the 14th and 28th picks, and throwing in Krebs and either Clifford or Jokiharju. Importantly, Andersson had no trade protection at the time of the draft (he does now). Perhaps less realistically, I would have traded Skinner to EDM for McLeod, with us and Chicago retaining half his salary. We could pay Chicago off with either our #44 pick, or EDM’s #32. EDM could lay Ceci off on Chicago as well to help balance their books.

I’m okay with Zucker, Lafferty, Abe-Kubel and Gilbert, but wouldn’t have wasted my time with Malenstyn. If we were so desperate for a 13th forward, we could have traded a bag of pucks to Anaheim for Max Jones when they decided not to qualify him.

Doesn’t seem so hard. FYI, I’m available at the season’s end when GMKA is shown the door.
