I like what the Ducks did overall. Procyszyn was maybe the only player that I felt didn’t make a ton of sense, but the rest of the draft class is interesting and as of now I’m rather sold on Beckett Sennecke. If he bulks up a bit, you put him with Leo Carlsson and Cutter Gauthier and that has the potential to be a really fun and scary top line for the Ducks in the future. And picking Stian Solberg kinda proves to me that the Ducks are trying to build a team that everyone is going to hate. A real nasty, snarly, and in your face style that revolves around hitting everyone in site, while also being able to parade a great level of skill along the way. So yeah, I’m very curious as to where the Ducks can take themselves with this style of play and I’m rather invested in what Pat Verbeek is doing with the players he drafts.
Love what the Ducks did this draft. They need to get bigger and play with more intensity. If Sennecke can become that top-six forward, hopefully Terry can be traded off. Carlsson, Gauthier, Zegras and McTavish are a great forward group to build around
This draft was all about projection. Looking at the Ducks draft history reveals maybe a solid reason they wouldn't consider Demidov.
Sennecke….hard to pass up on the size and skill of this talented kid. I stop questioning the Ducks decision after the last several stars they’ve drafted that all hit especially Leo. Just keep my mouth shut and enjoy the ride.
