If Buffalo got him. That would be the dumbest…..in a line of a decade in a half. Of absolutely stupid moves. They just bought out Skinner. Who was minus 130 for his career. So now they want to bring in a Skinner 2.0. That is minus 58 for his.

I think utah really can be a good fit for laine . Utah got their team and now they want some decent player. Not just like arizona 2.0 , they got sergachev and i think prospect wise they can afford to go for him . Especially if the price is not too high
honestly for montreal i would do the 1 mil retention and the pittsburg 2nd like you said but i would add possibly the new jersey 3rd and anderson instead of armia. anderson isnt productive enough for his 5 mil cap (which i why i switch the later pick to a 3rd of maybe the detroit 4th instead) and in need of a change of scenery. also i think armia has a little more to give that people tend to see and could be signed to another cheap contract at the end of next season
As a Columbus fan I can't see him being moved in the division or the conference, especially if they're moving him at a low point in his value. Minnesota, Seattle or Anaheim make the most sense.

With the salary he's making and his problems off the ice there is no way I would want Montreal to give up draft picks to get Laine….certainly not a 2nd rounder. If anything I would want picks back the other way. Yes he went to the player assistance program but there is no guarantee it will work. You want it to work on a personal level for him but it's a risk. if Montreal picks him up there has to be more in the deal for Montreal to pull the trigger….especially if they aren't picking up half his salary. Perhaps picking up Price's contract?

Habs do need a player like laine tho. We need at least a top winger, to compete in the future. U can't relay on Dach and Newhook tbh, I think Newhook has a lot of potential and for Dach, my concern for him will always be his injuries, what happens if he gets another big injury ? A player like Laine an elite goal scorer is much needed with the habs but I doubt that happens since no one comes to mtl lol

The Wild need to let the kids play and see what they have going forward. They are one year away from getting out from the Suter / Pairise cap crap and should hang low. The pipeline is full of great young guys, don’t bring in a potential headache.

One angle I haven't seen mentioned is that the odds are pretty good that he could land on a teams LTIR and then suddenly be healthy for a playoff push (ala Mark Stone or Nikita Kucherov from a few years back).
