Oilers acquired Brandon Manning after McDavid openly expressed how much he dislikes him (very similar to Matheson and Pettersson situation).
Pettersson may hate Matheson, but Demko and Matheson are actually good friends off the ice and they attended each other's wedding.
Not saying the Canucks should acquire him, but it isn't completely out of the realm if management believes he is a fit.
