  2. Rook22Ti

Goddamn they need to go back to those jerseys that Billy G is wearing. Also what the fuck, that is a weird one.

  3. letsgoToshio

Can’t believe I almost forgot about Guerin and Campbell. Back in the good old days when the Sharks were trading away their 1st round picks like candy for the one piece that would finally let us take the next step.

  4. UrsusAlakar

These posts are great for my puckdoku score.

  5. NickofSantaCruz

I’m disappointed Malhotra wasn’t re-signed; a legend in the faceoff circle and was more than serviceable in the bottom-six.

And it still hurts that Raffi Torres was a Shark at all – to call him a menace as an Oiler and Canuck is putting it mildly. His GP would be higher but for getting suspended in the second round of the 2013 playoffs and that 41-game suspension, earned during preseason play, in 2015.

  6. BleedingTeal

I’m not so sure that Kiprusoff should be here given that he was drafted by San Jose. While he obviously was more well known from his Calgary days, he started off his NHL career in teal.

  7. Imthecoolestdudeever

The quality of that Claude Lemieux photo makes it look like it was really recent. So weird.

  8. Shleven109

I love this I also feel like Teemu Selanne and Adam Graves deserve honorable mentions

  9. brady_t12

Eric Fehr?? Holy shit I had no recollection of him on the sharks.

  10. oakyafterbirth0409

Belfour looks surprised he was there too

  11. Normal_Tip7228

    Stupid Belfour.

Also Kiprusoff shouldn’t qualify for this tbh. He was drafted here, and spent theee seasons here, even though his game count is low. I swear Cogliano played for longer but I guess I’m tripping lol. Also Torres/Gomez/Dubnyk are well remembered in SJ. But they are good entries in this list for sure.

Also I remember Gus Nyquist well just because he played in that epic game 7 against Vegass.

  12. REO_Jerkwagon

You tryin to trigger an entire fanbase with that first one there?

  13. Steebu_

There’s no way Brian Campbell only played 20 games for the Sharks. I feel like I know him in a Sharks jersey more than a Hawks jersey at least.

  14. handsomesharkman

Thought I would see my nemesis Teemu Selanne

  15. Jeff_Banks_Monkey

Love that Belfour was still rocking his Blackhawks helmet design

  16. thirdlineplug

Raffi seemed like more games than that. Guessing he was suspended for half of them.

  17. tommygun731

Forgot Manny was there just before his run with nucks

  18. Edmuresay

Raffi Torres, the ultimate head hunter. Fuckin’ guy. Dude was good too… just couldn’t stop trying to maliciously injure guys. For some reason I thought he played more games with the Sharks.

  19. c0mradedrei

I didn’t realize how much of a journeyman Scott Gomez was. Dang.

  20. XGuiltyofBeingMikeX

Kiprusoff, “unusual?” My guy, they *drafted him.* He was in the farm system in Kentucky. He tried to fight Tom Kostopoulos in the first WBS Penguins’ home game😂

That era of San Jose was arguably a goalie factory.

  21. Barzal-13

Always remember Dubnyk with the Sharks from that time Binnington got pulled and lost it then tried fighting everyone in his path off the ice.

  22. Green_hippo17

I had completely forgotten about Roman Polak until right now

  23. CerebralAssass1n

TIL Claude Lemieux was still playing in the NHL in 2009

  24. Enough-Register5313

This might be the most *unusual* one so far

  25. DFWTrojanTuba

I’ll always remember Brian Campbell for taking the penalty that led to Cinco de Morrow.

  26. Sharks77

Fun Fact: I was like 11 or 12 when the Sharks got Belfour and I was so excited and sure he was going to stay that I joined some sort of official fan club he had. So when he left and joined the Stars, which ignited my hatred of the Stars, I kept getting mail from this chucklefuck for years. I sent numerous letters asking to unsubscribe but they never did.

Other stories I’ve experienced or friends have involving some of these guys:

-After the Sharks were eliminated by the Stars, my buddy (12 at the time) saw Iafrate outside and ran towards him to try to get an autograph. Iafrate flicked his cigarette near him and told him to fuck off.

-Before the Steelers/Cardinals Super Bowl I had a beer league game and the timing of it would have worked where I would have gotten to my buddy’s place by kickoff. I ended up missing the first quarter. Why? Before the game Claude Lemieux was on the ice galivanting around with his son (Brendan Lemieux) and doing drills and refused to get off the ice.

  27. TheGreatWildFrontier

Iafrate only being with the Sharks for 59 games blows my mind. He was on the team right as I was getting into the Sharks and his daughter went to my school. Could have sworn he was here for like 3 seasons.

I have absolutely no recollection of Dubnyk being a Shark.

    Ed Belfour can go screw.

  28. bigwreck94

I have zero recollection of Claude Lemieux playing in San Jose and I could have sworn Brian Campbell played there for a few seasons. My memory is failing in me in my old age.

  29. Strypes4686

Miika Kiprusoff….. the old ones cringe at that pic and how bad Dean Lombardi screwed up. They had Nabokov…. but gave the back-up role to Toskala and traded off Kipper.

  30. Youngblood519

Biggest surprise to me is finding out Rob Blake played 143 games for San Jose. Was definitely expecting him.

  31. checkthecatfax

I am NOT here for normcore Al Iafrate

  32. malinatorhouse

I like that the Bill Guerin card says New York Islanders but its him in a Sharks jersey lol

  33. Under_The_Influence_

I was thinking OP would trigger Sharks fan by putting Joe Pavelski

  34. TankDivision

Every time I see these, I think, “holy shit, that player was still playing that recently? What the fuck is time?”

  35. GasAlternative3261

Crazy that they had Evgeni Nabokov & Miikka Kiprusoff as a goalie tandem.

  36. FinkBass420

Kiprusoff in anything but Flames colours looks so wrong

  37. marbanasin

Guerrin and Soupy were legit let downs.

Raffi always felt like he played 2 seasons for us, but alas, 16 games.

And I claim Kipper. He was drafted and came up under Sterlow. Not our fault we had Toskala and Nabby also in the pipe.

  38. Philds15

Remember how electric Campbells time was with the sharks sheesh

  39. iggyfenton

    Missing on this list:

    Adam Graves

    Teemu Selanne

    Sergei Makarov

    Igor Larionov

    Rob Blake

    Doug Wilson (as a player)

    Scott Parker

    Gary Suter

    Colin White

    Ray Sheppard

    John Scott (All-Star MVP)

    Bernie Nicholls

    Dominic Moore

    Marty McSorley

    Martin Havlat

    Danny Heatley?

    Todd Gill

    Geaton Duchene

    Matt Carle?

  40. fendersux

I just threw up in my mouth.

    Fk Belfour
