  1. Anyone doubting the Panthers is likely in for a rude awakening. The biggest departure for me personally was Tarasenko just because He's one of my favorite players, I did really like Greer in Calgary though so I hope going to a better team in Florida works out.

  2. I love this format for a preview! You should do this for all of your preview videos. Thank you.

  3. I think the fans and the locker room will miss Lomberg the most, but I'm expecting some of the new acquisitions to find another gear when they come to southern Florida as a part of this team. Reinhart, Forsling, Montour, there has just been remarkable advancement in a short time when players come on. Zito, Maurice, the fun location, not sure who gets the credit.

  4. Florida is still good but they wont go to the cup finals for the third year in a row. Other than Forsling, i dont like their defence core. Bobrovsky wont be hungry anymore and could see him go back to bad Bob, so Spencer Knight has to step up big time. Devils will have a huge bounce back season and i see Boston as a huge threat in the east now with the addition of Lindholm

  5. Cats Rule! no, i'm not exactly talking about the Florida Panthers hockey team, who are awesome too, but the Feline species in general are the best species on the planet; & it's really not even close

  6. I actually have them barely making the playoffs with 90 points. Bobrovsky is getting up there in age and Spencer Knight isn't very proven yet. Mikkola's performance last season also isn't very sustainable.

  7. Panthers are the only team that people will criticize for not overpaying a declining player lol

  8. I guess anything’s possible. I don’t think they will though, having made the final the last two years. After being destroyed by Vegas last year then blowing a 3-1 lead this year and it coming down to an “anything can happen” game 7, I’m not sure they’ll make it back next year. Plus some of the players they lost are more significant than others keep trying to downplay.

  9. Florida seems to be a place where careers are rejuvinated. Maybe it's the system, maybe it's the spirit, and maybe it's the coaching, but a lot of their team from last year was has beens that rose again. Seeing the quality of their signings, if that trend continues I could see them being as good or better by the time the playoffs come back around. Zito is probably the best GM in the league, and he sees purpose, not stats. Pair that with Maurice, and the fact that the players seem to want to play their best for him, I think teh pieces are there. Playoffs for sure, and a deep run quite possible. Cup repeat? That's the hardest thing to do, but I don't see anything that makes me think it's impossible.

  10. Repeat? They barely won in the first place… The way they let the Connor McDavid pull the Oiler's up by their boot straps- The Oiler's had no business making it out of the second round let alone make the finals as they were no where near the calibre of team the Panthers are- claw their way back and go from 3-0 to game seven- in the most heroic, and historic manner cause it was first time a team came back from a 3-0 deficit in the finals, in NHL history… Based on that breakdown they should have been disqualified for winning a cup- pathetic! Thou shall not pass!!!!

  11. It’s not a matter of who they did and did not lose, but it’s about other teams got better at least how I see it.

  12. As a Panthers fan, it sure would be nice to go back-to-back. They made the most important move they could make in extending Reinhart. Even though they lost some key defensive pieces like Montour and OEL, they've kept their main core together. They're gonna be a really good team likely for the rest of this decade, and I like their chances of winning at least one more cup before 2030.

  13. I think the wear and tear of going to the finals 2 years in a row will have a larger impact than player losses.

  14. Your take away was good, as always. But you forgot to mention that they traded out players in their 30’s for players in their prime. That’s a very good strategy. The coaching in Florida is elite and with a crop of 25 year olds, they are set up to repeat. Love what you do. I wish you were my dad.

  15. Also added AJ Greer who can be an effective bottom sixer. Loved having him in Calgary this year, was a great guy in the room by all accounts too!

  16. I just want to see the Cup outside of Florida for a few years. Nothing against this Cats team, but no.

  17. Stenlund is a bigger loss than anyone else. He was the key to the penalty kill's success. Montour had his best season in 23 his contract will age like milk.

  18. The only real question marks will be Hunger. Are they hungry to go get another one, Chucky says yes, so we'll see. Injury. If there's a major injury that knocks someone out, that's where the problems arise. We've gone to the SCF back to back years because we were relatively healthy. We lost Luostarinen for the VGK series and you see how that turned out. We had no depth. This time is different, can they? Sure, will they? Only time will tell. A lot of miles on this team. NYI ran it back 4 times though….

  19. They will definately add a rw at the trade deadline. The loss of Montour will hurt the team the most but seeing how close the Oilers came of beating that team last season it might be tough for a repeat. Probably a 70% chance they repeat

  20. For this to happen, theyd be in the finals for the 3rd straight year. Thats roughly 300 games in 32 months, give or take on my educated guess. Thats a TON of hockey. They are good no doubt, but i see a 2nd rd, maybe 1st rd exit simply because the grind wears them down.

  21. Mackie Samoskevich and the Boqvist brothers will surprise people with their production this year. Justin Sourdif is also coming online after marinating in the AHL. Plays center and right wing, and can bring speed, skill, and grittiness to the bottom six. It’ll be hard to complete another cup run this year, but the Panthers will continue to make it incredibly hard for other teams to advance.

  22. Florida certainly could repeat. It's mostly going to come down to how healthy they all are. Two straight cup finals with the style they play, is going to wear you down. Can they keep the insane intensity going after a title?

  23. Seems like many of us have been thinking "a new start should do Schmidt some good" every time he changes team. Might need to reconsider what I think of Schmidt.

  24. Wow! I didnt realise how strong Florida Panthers still are
DAMN this team looks amazing! Florida is on a mission right now!!

  25. I believe the biggest question mark for Florida is whether Bob can remain at an elite level.

  26. They went from a perennial laughing stock to winning the President's trophy, followed by back to back SCF runs and a cup win. The core is good. Zito just has to maneuver the fringes and they'll be a legit contender. Go Cats

  27. Would not want to be the team playing Florida in the 1st round of this season's playoffs. Panther's management seem to be very pragmatic about which contracts to sign and which players to let walk, different from the ruthlessness in Vegas that could have the downside of cutting into team cohesion. People are always harping about this team or that team not being as good as the roster in the playoffs, like there won't be a trade deadline to bring in other rental players in the coming season.

  28. Finally someone says Luostarinen's name. Everyone (rightly) talks about Lundell as "baby Barkov" but Luostarinen is a stable do-anything forward that flies under the radar but gets the job done. Dude is money and deserves his props.

  29. This is their best shot at winning again with the value they have in the Verhaeghe and Bennett contracts. They had a decent off season given the cap crunch, definitely not out of the realm of possibility. Zito was smart not to match the Stenlund or Montour contracts.

  30. I'm happy they kept the core intact. Barky/Chucky/ Verhaeghe -Reinhart combo is probably one of the deadliest goal scoring combos in the NHL & also one the best lines tipping in pucks from 3-5ft from the goaltender

  31. I sure hope they don't repeat. Yep, I'm a hater, nope, I won't apologize. Go ahead hate on my comment, reply negatively to it…not going to change my opinion on it.
