All it will take for 30 to return to form is to play like the $8 mil. a year goalie he is paid like. Way too much for a goalie in this day and age. And this is what happens when you give players long term security. They aren't hungry anymore knowing they have long term security. See: 3, 6, 13, 14, 18, 24, 27, 44 all signed to louzer special 7-8 year long term deals by louzer.
And louzer is in the bottom tier of nhl gm's for his cap ignorance and handcuffed roster which has no future replacements in the system because louzer doesn't give a shit about isles future.

Goaltending was the only position I wasn't worried about going into last season. Now this season, I'm worried about all 3; forward, defense, and goltending.
He is def coming back strong he's got roy behind him now he'll be playing much different I say we'll see a world class goalie this year
I think Ilya will be back strong. I like your comment on Igor Shesterkin unfortunately being 1st. 😂 But not too surprising with his playoff performance. Cheers!
Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? I'm convinced Ilya Sorokin will comeback even stronger he just needs support from his teammates, and he's got Patrick Roy as a Coach. He never lost his confidence, there were ⏲️ when he was wiped out. THE DEFENSE NOT ONLY NEEDS TO GET HEALTHY, BUT STAY HEALTHY, TOO. Sorokin's only 29 years old, so he's still in his prime. The Athletic ranked The Islanders front office either last or dead last, and if he didn't sign Anthony DuClair, it would be dead last. HAPPY 🎂, MIKE MCEWEN. He's a great offensive defenseman. On April 13, 1982, with The Islanders down 3-1, he scored to pull them to within one goal against Pittsburgh, and then "Q" fixed it so JT could save The Dynasty. Good morning team! Gil, I love this particular topic for today's episode. Everyone in my circle knows how I feel about Sorokin. I'll defend his goaltending against any hater, but some of the haters in and about my area, has a point when they say he looked weak and sometimes he seemed out of place. This last season was not a fun one for diehard Sorokin fans, such as myself. Thank goodness Varly was on his game, down the stretch, when it mattered. I say all that to say this. Sorokin has shown greatness, pre last season, and I believe, under Roy's tutelage, he'll be there again. Possibly make another run to be considered a serious candidate for the Vezina trophy this year. Thanks again, Sir. Everyone, have a great day and weekend! Please stay safe.
