it's one thing to get your ass kicked from start to finish. It's a whole other animal to claw your way back and to be with in 2 goals of completing the most miraculous comeback in NHL history and not be able to finish that just makes this extra tough.
I was at the game as an Oilers fan. Man I couldn't get out of that place fast enough. It stung a lot for me but it was excruciating for the players and staff. Hoping for a better finish next year
Yeah, losing in the Stanley Cup Final burns like hell. Damn, it stings and sucks. But Florida was due this year as they had been turned back against Colorado in 1996 and Vegas last year. Florida felt the same pain last summer in Vegas. There is no worse feeling in sports than coming that close to a championship and coming short.
As much as I remember what it's like to go through that (trust me, I've been in their shoes and in a room like that and it royalled sucked!) you have to use that as fuel to keep rolling toward the next chance you have to win a Cup. IMO, Edmonton will win a Cup before the end of the decade but Florida deserved to win it all this year.
Florida was the best TEAM entering the Cup playoffs and quite frankly had no business squandering a 3-0 lead in the Cup Final. Had it not been for some bad bounces early in Game 4, there is a chance this series would have ended in Edmonton in Game 4.
As a Floridian, I am glad Florida won it all (Finally!) but know what Edmonton went through. Sucks, no other words I can tell you.
If Skinner had been on his game from the beginning of the series , like he rally them back into the series's they would've won the Stanley cup.. my opinion! On another note, why did they extend his contract? Why his not a playoff game changer goalie. I know i am going to get hatred for this, but time will reveal its true outcome.
He should have went out to accept the Conn Smythe, it SUCKS BADLY you didn't win the cup..but come on, you're not a kid. You are a grown adult and you have to set a good example of sportsmanship to all young kids who look up and idolize you

They had canuck fans on Twitter butt hurt they literally couldn't stop posting about oilers everyday since there team got kicked 😂 I was kind of getting sad for them lmao. Oilers will be back again if panthers can do it a second time so can they 😊
Oilers fans can thank themselves. A bunch of Florida players said they had extra motivation in game 7 after the the way the oil fans tormented the FL bus after game 6.
