RIP the legend 🙏
I’ll never forget the fight he had with Boris Valabik. The dude was 8 inches taller and had 50lbs on him and was a known fighter. Yet Rypien, through sheer power of will, manhandled him. A glorious thing to watch.

Edit: Should be noted that I was a big Thrashers fan as well, after the Canucks of course. And East vs West games were not as common back then, so this was a huge game to watch.
Out of his ashes rose mental health awareness that has no doubt saved many lives. A positive from an unfortunate situation. RIP
