In the slot for the PP will be a tad tighter this year with Stammer not sitting at the circle. I find his game to be very good and the opportunities with Guentzal will be damn good. A different style on the PP this year but better D would be the best solution to improved play in the real season come April.

  2. I hope. I feel like PP1 is going to be such a wildcard this year. Feel like we’ll see a lot of Kuch -> Hedman clappers.

  3. He was our best player last year next to Kuch. Our best 2 way forward and it wasn’t close.

I’d be surprised if he landed on the PP1 because of what an effective PK player he is and how good Kuch and Pointer are there. That spot is Guentzel’s to lose unless the chemistry is all out of whack, then we’ll be trying all kinds of combos with Point and Kuch.

Teams were still starting to figure out our PP: get it to the assassin, Stamkos. But now we have more options with squirrelly skaters and passers who also can score and plus with Guentzal, he could be where Stammer was a few years ago and likely playing more minutes too. I’m increasingly excited … or just a fan being overly optimistic.
