  1. I have some concerns with Vegas. Upfront, they don't look as strong as they once did. So I have some questions on where the goals are going to come from.

  2. Vegas isn't going to be a good team this season, but they still have a great shot at a playoff spot, because there are only two good teams in the Pacific division. In fact, three of the eight teams are not even trying to make the playoffs this year and three would be considered wildcard teams in any other division.

Both Vegas and LA got worse in the off season while Seattle got better. Any of the teams could earn that third playoff spot, but I think there is a real chance whichever team does will earn fewer points than the second WC team earns.

  3. This team definitely lost some talent and depth. It wouldn't surprise me if they go full aggressive at the deadline and piss everyone off doing so. Pacific isn't strong, so I think they're an easy playoff team. 3rd in the Pacific with 93-98 points.

  4. Their lack of goalie depth is a bit of a concern. Schmid has NHL experience but after that it’s rough if Hill or Samsonov were hurt long term

  5. Third or fourth in the Pacifc. Yeah, maybe behind Utah. I think Eichel is overrated. He's good, but not a top12 forward. Defense and goaltending will help Vegas be better than they really are.

  6. As a Vegas fan, I agree that our days as a contender with this group is over (for at least this season) I just hope holtz can break out offensively

  7. I am a huge fan of Lukas Cormier. I watched him alot in The QMJHL for The Charlottetown Islanders. I hope he gets a chance this season, especially since its his last season of his ELC.

  8. Eichel is top 10 in the league in terms of talent. He should be a 90+ point player, though. I consider him a top 20 forward who should be higher, but his overall production is less than it should be.

  9. Stone hasn't played 75 games in a season in almost a decade…there has to be a reason why…now he's 32 and absolutely has to play should be interesting.😊

  10. Vegas looks like a contender if everyone stays relatively healthy… maybe not as flashy as other contenders, but pretty strong playoff-hockey roster…
However, 1 or 2 injuries away from fighting for wild card spot…

  11. As a sharks fan I am hoping for them to have a disaster season not because of the rivarly but because we own their first round pick unprotected because of the Hertl trade

  12. Despite a depleted forward group, this team is still a championship contender. They still have the strong blue line and elite goalie in Adin Hill, it’s just a matter of who is going to score the goals in Vegas. This team is not in danger of missing the playoffs at all. In fact, I think they have a better chance at winning the division.

  13. i'm not a VGK fan or hater, but (as a tampa fan) what i do appreciate about them, is they don't sit on their hands. literally EVER. vegas has ELITE pro scouting and they know what they want. when they target a guy they want, they go after him like the FBI.

VGK def runs the hockey team like an american corporation as far as being cutthroat, ruthless. that will def rub some people the wrong way, but they are who they are.

good health aside, they def have some improvement opportunities. not saying they are cup contenders at this time, but you can't count them out by virtue of gm mccrimmon being willing and able to make the big moves at any given time. (within the trade deadline)

if VGK has a slow start you can rest assured that vegas will do something. the same goes if the team is doing OK and there's a chance to get better.
the team has a bruising blueline and adin hill in net. they just gotta get adequate goal scoring when it matters.

until somebody wipes them out in the p-off's, vegas will remain a dangerous deep p-off run threat. they are a real life jason from the movie "friday the 13th".

  14. As a devils fan i hope Holtz finally finds his way, the talent is there, it just wasnt going to happen in jersey

  15. We sure are going to miss " Marshy" I think that was a mistake. What a great player, teammate and person. Hopefully chemistry won't be an issue !

  16. Provided Vegas doesn't put one of their stars on LTiR because they're pregnant or something, they shouldn't have a problem making the playoffs. Samsonov is a strange acquisition for this team, but they've never made goaltending a priority so it's on brand.

  17. This team might end up being better after the offseason moves, if those left can stay healthy. Stephenson was plagued by inconsistency, and when productive it seemed to be a product of playing with Stone. Marchessault managed to be a minus 2 while scoring 40 plus goals and skating with Eichel. Great guy, excellent goal scorer, but a flawed player, especially outside of the offensive zone. They have some kids who might surprise people.

  18. Winter Classic jersey top V logo looks like Toad flipping off Mario in the first Super Mario Bros.
“Your Cup is in another Castle.”
Stupid dragon. I blame that dragon for not letting Vegas get into the second round last year.

  19. As a fan of Vegas i think we are gonna struggle to maintain this season. Have to have big years from everyone.

  20. I think our days as a 3rd period comeback team are probably behind us…..but I think, or at least hope, that it's because we don't take 35-40 minutes to build any momentum and instead run a meatgrinder for 60 minutes that just makes it REALLY hard to build momentum against us, giving our scorers the time they need to get the job done before we have to scramble to make up for a period or two of sluggishness. I want teams to dread having to come to Vegas because they know that the Fortress is where they'll get worn down until they have to take a redeye Greyhound back home (after all, that's how we keep the lights on in this town….wearing down visitors until they cough up their savings :P)

My only real disagreement though is your lines. Granted, it's a small sample size given how many games they each missed, but I've never been terribly impressed with Stone and Eichel together. Granted, part of that was I think Stone and Stephenson had some magic together that made any other forward pairing a little meh, but Eichel with Barby and Olofsson and Hertl with Stone and Doro is, IMO, the top six we'll see work.

I think we'll see at least one more bigger move before game 1 though. Not a Hertl or Hanifin sized one, but I think some extra umph on line 3 with Karlsson, or something on the top line with Eichel and Barby.

  21. One of the things about Vegas is that they've always been a team that wins by committee. I am sad about the style of management because it means the players you grow to love move on, but at the end of the day we just want to see some good games and have a team to cheer for so it's all good

  22. They will struggle this season, but i dont think they it will be as bad as everyone thinks it will be. Its mostly just black pilling from Marchy not sticking around. If VGK gets a decent plus side start this season, all the negativity will go away. Vegas fans havent yet learned that superstars are still human and get old.

  23. Love Vegas Golden Knights Health Will Be Key, We Lost A Lot Of Key Players No Question. But I See The Team Getting A Wild Card Spot Again. Will They Make A Big Trade For A Player. And Is Shea Theodore Going To Be Gone After 24-25 Season. I See 1 Or 2 Wild Card Spot. And Maybe See Nashville Predators And Marchy In A First Round Series

  24. They’ll go as far as health takes them first.

After that, it’s whether or not their team defense can do the job.
