@Sabres de Buffalo

[SabresClassics] L’un des plus grands arrêts de Dominik Hasek a été celui sur Mario Lemieux. L’arbitre n’en croyait pas ses yeux et a dû vérifier son gant. Voici cet arrêt du 29 janvier 1997.

    Special thanks to Dixon Ward for one of the absolute worst clearing attempts in Sabres history to make it all possible.

    You younger Sabres fans have no idea what its like having the absolute best player in the NHL just carrying your sorry ass team every night. It was a shame we never had an owner willing to spend to get a championship team in front of him. The fact he carried us to game 6 of the finals with Curtis Brown, Mike Peca, and Brian Holzinger down the middle is amazing. Literally the best to ever do it at his position.

    I love the crowd shots. I grew up in Buffalo. It’s 1997 yet based on fashion looks like it it is around 1985.

    Picture quality reminds me of when my IP is bottlenecked and I’m swearing at them.

    But, yes, All Hail the last Sabre MVP

    Dom built himself a legendary NHL career at 29. Drafted well prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall in ‘89. Got to CHI to back up Belfour. Think about that…6 Vezina’s 2 Hart’s and a Gold Medal…2 Cups he had to get across the Lake. Still to this day comes back to Buffalo from Czechia. We were so very fortunate to witness his brilliance in and out (breakaway impromptu) of the crease. Gil was amongst the best but nobody in NHL history carried a team like Hasek…
