I've competed in Play On three years in a row but haven't played in it for something like 10ish year. My biggest issues before was the fact teams who should be playing in a higher division, would go play in a lower one just so they could have a better chance of winning. Also, each year I played, the reffing we had was HORRENDOUS!! Half of the time the ref we had would be looking at his phone for half the game and not paying attention to anything.

The biggest concern remains our 3rd D Pair. Either Tocchet really believes Adam Foote can work his magic on these large men, or we're going to be spending a whole lotta time in our zone due to poor ability to carry that puck out.
I really hope we fix this at the trade deadline.
Just imagine if Vancouver had drafted one of the next 4 guys in that draft class instead of him.

I'm surprised the Canucks even got a 4th for Podz. He's on the outs, and he's almost 100% getting waived. I guess the Oilers were thinking they needed a cheap winger to play the bottom 6 for cheap and it wasn't likely for podz to reach them on waivers. It's probably a waste of a 4th, but hey maybe they can get more out of Podz. He's a nice guy, but he's not a full-time NHLer and he will probably be on waivers at some point next year.

Trading former 1st round picks for 4th round picks is not good asset management.
I remember watching Podkolzin at World Juniors thinking he had a big future in the NHL
Surprising only that he was traded to the Oilers. GM's tend to feel a lot less obligation to holding on the 1st round draft pick prospects of the previous regime, but it's a shame he didn't work out in Vancouver. One concern about Podkolzin is that he needs to learn to keep his head up more. About once a game he's in danger of being laid out for not paying attention to his surroundings and it's kind of hard to watch.
Three top-10 picks gone to waste since 2016, and now you got Canucks talking heads saying that Klimovich is a plug who was picked several rounds early, too. Honestly, it's embarrassing.

Its worth mentioning that Landeskog was video'd doing his skate recently, and he looks much MUCH better than the last time we saw him on video. Still looks like December or later to me, but hes most certainly making real progress.

Math Time Kiddies: So Kane LTIR at $5,125,000 plus moving Josh Brown to the Bake (another 1,000,000) LESS Broberg at $4,580,917 Less newly acquired Podkolzin at 1 million gives us $544,083 on the PLUS side of the cap less the almost $400,000 we were over before) still gives us about 144K to the plus side and we replace Holloway, Keep Broberg, Keep Ceci and Kulak while moving down an 8th Defender (Josh Brown) letting us field a 13 forward, 7 D, 2 Goalie squad if I read this right while being Cap compliant. The biggest Gotcha for us has to be how long Kane will be on LTIR. If it's not until playoffs something BIG has got to give. Take care all.

I don’t think ppl realize that tons of teams lose their former 1st round players for nothing because they never panned out as expected. Pods is a North-south player much like Virtanen. If u give them the puck they’re probably just gonna shoot it and not be creative enough to make plays…

I've never seen anything of note in Podkolzins game besides his will to drive the net. It is so incredibly foolish to write off Holloway after 2 iffy regular seasons, especially for an Oilers team that's already super old up front and on the blueline.
