Assuming this is true, the Flyers are in a weird scenario here. They just loaned him to Dinamo last season, too.
At a certain point they might want to put their foot down and say « You signed an ELC. We did you a favor last season. Now we want to see you stick it out in North America. »
However, maybe another season on loan is an amicable solution. Do the Flyers want to look cold-blooded for refusing to cooperate with a reportedly homesick, non-English speaking kid, less than a year after the Gauthier fallout?
Obviously I’m no GM and am not really CBA competent, but if he wants this then he should sign an extension or they should trade him. Burning two years of his ELC on a loan is BS.
He took the signing bonus, he should be in the US.
Hey Alexei, you could have said that at the start of this whole fiasco and not caused unnecessary controversy, and this will he or won’t he bullshit. Man up.
Worth noting thet HockeyNewsHub translated an article regarding his agent switch. Looks he made the switch so the new agent could facilitate the move to stay home. https://imgur.com/a/sYFsGsn
Let him play 1 more KHL year. It’s better than the AHL. Wait to see what shakes out between Ersson and Fedotov. If either falters, bring the kid over next year. Bring another Russian into the AHL, that’ll help with any other young kid coming over from the KHL.
Of course they could always trade him too.
