  1. Cap Dumped 1 million off the Books to acquired rightshot Defense Benning worsed GM another Bust just see the trade today 7 players lefted on this team of Benning core

  2. Broberg seems like a bit of a sourpuss with an attitude similar to Jesse Pulljiarvi who thinks he is better than he is. So I’m wondering if Oilers are letting both Holloway and Broberg go since they obviously don’t want to play in Edmonton. And Pod might be a payback for Vinnie D.

  3. This is a disastrous trade for Van. Why would you trade with a divisional rival that eliminated you in the playoffs? 😡🤬 Are you seriously telling me that no other team was willing to give up a fourth round pick for a 23 year old player with loads of potential? How many players drafted in the fourth round even make it to the NHL, and that’s all you got for a 10th overall pick. You just had to help Edmonton by gifting them a Holloway replacement for half the cost. The Oilers were in trouble after the offer sheets from St. Louis and had no leverage to make a trade because of their cap space. But I guess Alvin decided to be a nice guy and help the team that is the biggest threat to them in the division. I would rather lose Podkolzin through waivers than sending him to the Oilers. 😣😖

  4. Benning was so concerned about keeping his job, they mismanaged his development. Should have played first year in the AHL.

But helping Edmonton? Now watch him turn into 30g/40a guy.

  5. I wonder if Van makes a move for Evander Kane? Maybe they move Hoglander and Poolman.. Same could be said for Patrik Laine if 50% is retained. Either one of them could play with Pettersson or Miller. If not one of them, who else is available? 🤔

  6. Podkolzin will probably never live up to the hype surrounding his draft, but his ceiling is probably as a bottom 6 forward who can bang in 20 goals during a career year. He's got a great work ethic, and he's a serviceable winger. He will never realize his potential on the Canucks, and with the influx of incoming prospects, Podz will probably get even less ice time. It wouldn't surprise me if Podz gets his career year this year in Edmonton and Cancuks fans will be shaking their heads wondering why they let him go. Anyways, I wish Podz all the best.

  7. I went to vocational school in Nanaimo, BCVS, good times ! Now in Princeton… I don't mind the trade, he was not producing enough.

  8. Podkolzin needs playing time. Oilers are known for reclamation projects that turn out well. If it doesn,t turn out, so what? Lots of up and comers in the system.
