I’ve gotta be tripping this feels like a fleece job for the Habs

  2. Glad they finally finished that trade. Less time things like have to linger for teams and players the better

  3. Illustrious_West_976

Absolutely a steal, especially if Laine go s back to clap bomb form

  4. T-REXX3000

I love how WE get the 2nd round pick. I tought it was going to CBJ lol

We’re about to see what leaving Ohio does to a motherf*cker.

  6. ILSmokeItAll

Jordan Harris gets Laine and a 2nd.

There wasn’t *anyone* else in the entire league that could top that???

  7. Griswaldthebeaver

I remember arguing with Jackets fans who thought they were gonna get positive value back. One fan was SURE they were gonna get a haul, I think he said « at minimum two first rounds or equivalent »

  8. Hopefully he can find his feet again. Kind of a scary market to figure things out in though.

I’m very glad he seems to be healthy and mentally on the up and up.

That said. Peace! Was very much over the drama. Retaining no salary is good enough for me at this point.

Canadiens gonna Sean Monahan this thing again. Patrick Laine excels for the next year and a half and then they flip him for a 1st and more (or something like that) next deadline. Free picks!

Crazy part is Montreal also got a second rounder from CBJ. At one point wasn’t CBJ asking for a 1st and prospect(s) for Laine? Man this seems like a one sided trade. I get it Laine doesn’t want to play anymore in Columbus but what was he going to do, sit out? Montreal definitely upgraded their top 6.

Next off season, they can trade him to Washington for PLD once they both get tired of their current situations

  13. For us Jets fans, I think Laine has good and bad memories and we all know about the bad ones

Did we really just get a potential top 10 goal scorer AND a second for a bottom pairing dman?

Funny, I was just reading an article yesterday about how it would be hard to trade Laine, who openly didn’t want to be in Columbus, and might require some sacrifice on the Blue Jackets side. This would appear to validate that 😅

  16. Laine AND a 2nd round pick? That’s a great-looking deal for Montreal damn. Harris looks decent though, we’ll see how this goes long-term…

I just fucking hate the envy that I have at how MTL is rebuilding.

They keep making the kind of trades that I was *screaming* at my TV for Dorion to make over the last 6 years.

Incredibly low risk-buy lows, and reclamation projects. ***Fuuuuuuuuck***.

Kent Hughes putting on a gm clinic.

This is a low risk high reward trade for Montreal. Only two years left on Laine’s deal and ultimate worst case scenario he gets bought out in the summer.
Moving Harris Also declutters the LHD giving Lane Hutson more room to breathe.

Problem with Harris other then his size is that he’s sort of good at everything but not great at anything. Hope he gets to prosper in CLB
