  1. Don’t mind this kid one bit. It’s just unfortunate we had to give Laine and a 2nd just to get him back.

However, I am glad that we aren’t retaining any salary at all. It’s going to be said that we’ve been “fleeced” any maybe so… but this is a trade we had to make and obviously nobody else was buying.

You guys remember when Harris called out Proverov for sitting during pride night?

    Coming from Montreal:

Harris is a good defenceman. Hes not the greatest BUT he will never hurt your own team with stupid/bad play.

Take good care of him, hes a good kid

  4. Personality wise – great kid

Positional needs – great because we need someone who leans a bit more defensively as it seems like everyone single one of our left handers are ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!

Ability wise – *start singing fixer upper from Frozen*

Yeah…he’s a fixer upper but he’s a serviceable LHD3 at this point. He’s not bad just didn’t hit his full potential. Better than having Stanley Cup Champion Jack Johnson and Gudbranson on the same line everynight (also I am a Gudbranson apologist)

Habs fan here, watching Harris for the last few seasons has been a treat he’s really responsible in his own zone and for a young defensemen he plays like a vet, played alot of time in the habs top 4 and on the pk, he will be a great bottom 4 defensemen for years to come imo. I commented in this sub 2 months ago asking you cbj fans about a barron + 26th pick for laine trade and got downvoted. But I guess I was being too generous. Sucks that you guys couldn’t get a team to pay for laine because he is an elite talent.

I’m pumped for it, glad we didn’t have to retain anything on Laine and this guy seems like he can help our depth on D

Montreal fan here. Unfortunate that you didn’t get full value. But Harris is solid and a great kid. You’ll like him

I’m a habs fan and am a huge Harris fan.

Away from the ice, he’s about everything you can ask for. Incredibly respectful and has done some awesome work in the community and representing both Black and Jewish communities.

On the ice, I always found Harris to be incredibly underrated. If you don’t believe me, check out my profile and all the times I’ve pumped his tires. He plays a boring yet reliable game. Can play in his own end really well and can take a bulk of defensive zone starts. Good on PK and doesn’t make too many risky/dumb mistakes.

I maintain that Harris is going to have a long NHL career likely as a 4/5. He has a good physique and can still add an element of toughness to his game. As long as you don’t expect high offensive output, I think you’re going to like the person and player Harris is. I’m excited to acquire Laine, but am sad to see Harris go.

  9. It seems like he can fill the gaping hole left by Savard being traded away. I’m happy with this.
