  1. I still think both are going to blues. Easier to replace players that don't want to be here. Also that is why NHL teams have farm teams 4

  2. take Broberg and Holloway getting removed from the website for a grain of salt, I don’t think the people who edit the website are oilers insiders who know what’s going on with bowman and Jackson

  3. I hope they are playing mind games…

Holloway is a much better option than Perry (39) and Ryan (37)

    Podz Holloway Lavoie

Broberg is better than Ceci and Nurse.

    Ekholm Bouchard
    Nurse Broberg
    Kulak Emb
    Brown

Keeping both makes us a better team for this season. And, both can be traded next summer for more than a 2nd and 3rd.

Not matching is a very bad idea.

  4. The people who they collected are not viable replacements, I believe they are clearing room to take both or one of the two. Broberg is the more valuable player in my opinion.

  5. I personally feel that Broberg is not worth 4.58m. This can go two ways, he works out, but if he doesn't work out, the fans will lose their minds and it ties up 4.58m for 2 years with Bouch, Draisaitl, McDavid up for resignings.

  6. Letting them walk gives the oilers better picks then they traded away. Maybe a deadline move with those picks? Who knows, maybe they keep both guys?

  7. As somone who works in a big company I can tell you the left hand hardly ever knows what the right hand is doing.

  8. Although my guess would be that they match both or at least Broberg, I would not be surprised if they still let both walk. The reasoning is that:
    1) The team already has many "value" NHL-level forwards, plus they might be betting that one of Podkozin, Jarventie, Lavoie, or Noah Philip is a good fit on the roster.
    2) Maybe they agree that if Broberg wants out and sees himself as a left side D-Man, then it might be best that they don't overpay and let him go to the Blues. Kris Knoblauch coached Emberson well not long ago where Emberson was named AHL Eastern Conference Best Defensive Defenseman. Could either him or Stetcher play 2nd pair Right beside Nurse, or are they both just fighting for 6th and 7th D positions beside Brown? Regardless, if they don't sign Broberg, they have the financial capacity to sign or trade for another Dman.
    3) Kane might be playing hardball and refusing surgery. Could it be that Bob Stauffer is not right on this one? Kane has a NMC and can insist to take the physical and stay on the roster. If that's the case, there's nothing that the Oilers can do about it!

  9. For those who h8 on Broberg for requesting a trade and-or the $4.58M offer sheet… here are the facts:

No one is turning down over 6M more dollars than the Oilers were trying to sign him for… this doesn't mean he doesn't want to be an Oiler.

As for the trade request… Broberg was playing regular 3rd pairing minutes a season and a half ago. Then… Barrie was traded to Nashville for Ekholm which moved Kulak down to 3rd pair. In this situation… ask yourself this… Kulak's contract at the timeof the trade request had 2.5 seasons left… you'd ask for a trade too after spending a year in the AHL because you're waiver exempt and your likely hood of rejoining the team as an LD anytime soon is next to zero… you're asking for a trade too… again… doesn't mean he doesn't want to be an Oiler.

Broberg might be an overpay at $4.6M and there's a good chance his contract is a value contract by January… equally… possibly more so than Holloway's.

Yes he asked for a trade and accepted an offer sheet that no one would refuse… however… though it was only 10 games… he learned how to play RD … with NURSE!

Many have suggested Broberg is the next Oscar… I'm willing to give him the chance to prove it… in many ways he's earned the chance.

  10. Swayman isn’t on Boston’s page. Seider isn’t on Detroit page lol. I think this is just a false alarm.

  11. Sigh…. Do some research before making these videos. ALL RFAs from ALL nhl teams are not listed on their team site

  12. It came to my attention after posting and I see many of you have noted it already as well, that all RFA’s are not listed on their team’s websites. I originally made note of Broberg/Holloway’s absence because it was noted that they were listed there as recently as yesterday. Let’s see what happens, but thank you to everyone who reached out on this.

  13. As much as I'd like to see both stay, the money that St Louis threw at them is too much for what they provide. Maybe in 2 or 3 years they're worth that, but not now. It sucks to say, but i think the Oil have to take the L on this and let both of them go.

  14. This whole Broberg/Holloway saga has had me do some wine tasting on all the Oilers content providers. By far and away this has been the most enjoyable channel. Happy to subscribe and looking forward to following along this season!

  15. Why would they trade ceci if not just to make room for Broberg? I think Podkolzin is a natural replacement for Holloway. So Broberg stays, Holloway gone. That’s my take.
