Wonder what the « material breach » was?

  3. No_Fishing1850

Damn I thought he was gonna be a big piece for us moving forward. /s

Sounds like the Flyers don’t believe Johansen has been injured. Oddly enough this is better than having to buy him out.

Did he show up far, or just try and bring oxycodone across the border?

Saw Cam Atkinson post something from Johansen’s wedding to his Instagram on Sunday. Wonder if the Flyers noticed something in that small clip. lol

So strange the Flyers have dealt with so many individual player issues. Hart, Fedotov, Gauthier, Kolosov, now Johansen. It’s truly a blessing our star prospect wants to be here because idk how I’d survive as a fan if it weren’t for Michkov

Does a material breach get the Flyers totally out of his contract, vs. a normal buyout where the cap hit would be spread out over term?

    EDIT:

    > @charlieo_conn: If the contract is terminated successfully, Johansen’s cap hit for 2024-25 will go off the Flyers’ books entirely. That said, I’d imagine Johansen is going to fight this.

Much better than having to buy him out. Small move, but not a bad one.

Saw a video of his wedding and he was lifting his bride up and made a joke to my friend that he doesn’t look that injured. Wonder if this is medical related.

said it when he made up injuries and refused to play and I’ll say it again: fuck this dude.

frankly, fuck anybody that doesn’t want to be a flyers.

You don’t like us we don’t care

    He’s planning to grieve it.

  13. Steppyjim

Honestly this could be great news if he’s found to have violated his contract. Frees up what, 8 mil in space we wouldn’t have to pay? Would be awesome.

A new Flyers iceberg entry for next year.

  15. flyermeup

I bet the flyers put a PI on him to take video/photos of him doing physical things(golf, tennis, working out) that he claimed he couldn’t do.

The conspiracy theorist in me has me thinking. This will be a way to help the preds out as well for a ‘deal trade’ on askarov.

I mean, Colorado wanted to dump him, he helped us get a 1st in return for Walker, I don’t think the Flyers ever had him in their plans. Best case we don’t take the dead cap we’d planned on, worst case we do after his grievance.

That sound is Danny using the freed up $4M to take on a contract and acquire another first 😈

  19. vinny8244

Freed up enough money to trade some draft picks for Trevor Zegras 🤔

Never a dull moment in Flyers land

  21. Mystik_Reaper

This is a win for all parties. Walker got his money, we got a first for him, and we get out from under Johansen’s contract! 🥳
