@Oilers d'Edmonton

Nah, just a victim of their own circumstances. They have a very talented expensive team. Things like this happen. They didn’t have room.

The Blues are rebuilding, they do have the room.

It’s that simple. It’s why the CNA was designed this way. Players like Broberg and Holloway shouldn’t be punished for simply being on a deep and great team. The UFA Offer Sheet system protects players like them.

  2. This is ok and the blues gived the Oilers another 3rd round of 2028 and paul fischer, but if i was the the Oilers i would try and get Anderson from the flames and gived then 2nd amd 3rd round picks and get Tyson barrie for league minimum

  3. What do Doug Armstrong and President Vladimir Putin have in common? They both woke up one day and declared war on a nation.

  4. No. The Oilers ownership & his bad instincts & penchant for hiring old school management types screwed this team over. There's NO PLAN TO GROW THIS TEAM/FRANCHISE ORGANICALLY just throw money at every problem & fly by the seat of your pants😢

  5. It was Broberg and Holloway that fucked us! Our only job against the Blues is to run the both of them. MAKE IT HURT

  6. Over paying for two players is just going to screw St. Louis in the long run. They won’t be isolated with elite talent and their true colours will show

  7. Like the Toronto Maple Leafs, the bulk of the Edmonton Oilers payroll is reserved for a few core players. Full credit to Doug Armstrong. ✔️

  8. The Oilers made the smart play of not overpaying for mid to bottom level talent. Good on Holloway and Broberg for getting paid. With the off season moves, I think Jackson basically filled those positions provisionally at the beginning of free agency with Arvidson, Skinner, Savoie, Brown and Stecher. The player in return for Ceci knows the coach and his system, the coach knows what he's capable of. I think the moves right now look bad but let's wait til mid November before we really judge these moves.

  9. It hurts to lose PHILIP BROBERG who was on the rise in EDMONTON AND CONTRIBUTED SO MUCH TO OUR STANLEY CUP FINALS RUN. I will miss DYLAN HOLLOWAY. He was amazing to watch with speed and talent. But I don’t think they are worth the offer sheets by Armstrong. The BLUES are crafty but are still rebuilding. Holloway surprised me by accepting the BLUES OFFER-I thought he was happy as an OILER. He needs a new agent.,he made a HUGE MISTAKE LEAVING THE OILERS. BROBERG did so well and was key on our run to the FINALS BUT WE DID NOT GET IT DONE! We will replace HOLLOWAY AND DEFINITELY NEED TO REPLACE BROBERG AND ADD MORE TOUGH BLUELINE DEFENSE -we also need a defensive forward like the PANTHERS. Defense in today’s game win CUPS.

  10. If BROBERG WAS UNHAPPY THEN the fault lies with KEN HOLLAND AND JAY WOODCRAFT THE FORMER HEAD COACH who could have used HOLLOWAY AND PHILIP BROBERG EARLY

  11. I really don't think St. Louis expected to have to pay up for both of those contracts. They might be the ones that end up screwed on the tail end of this.

  12. 2 guys who are going to regret walking away from the next Stanley cup champions. All the money in the world will never get you that prize and you just sold yourselves down the river

  13. Meh, they fixed the holes left by them leaving.

A big reason why broberg is worth 4.58 is he was willong to stay at 1.8

Holloway is a headscratcher. I guess he felt he wouldn't get big opportunities with Skinner and Arvidsson signed.

7 mill between the two of them is too much for a team like the Oilers. The blues can risk it.

Also, Broberg didn't seem invested in staying, especially with his agent.

  14. The Oilers r certainly mismanaged Broberg, don’t play him last year and now Vincent is not here anyway. Not a good look. I hope St. Louis gets what’s coming to them as well. I’m sure other managers like it too much either . managers working with players against other managers.
