@Blues de Saint-Louis

1. Pretty fuckin dissapointed they didn't match Dylan. Also concerned about the defense getting downgraded.

  2. Broberg would be an overpay if we matched it and he wanted out anyways so let him go, gonna miss holloway though

  3. As a blues fan I like it. They probably wouldn't have spent the money so taking a gamble on players like them on short deals. There's no losing from the blues side. We usually don't have cap to throw around so it's nice that Doug was able to for once. Worst case they don't work out and you lose a 2nd and 2 thirds( including the prospect and 3rd for future consideration)

  4. In the end, they would have made money anywhere, they wete a lot closer to winning the Stanley Cup in Edmonton, IMO short sighted, but now they will get more TOI in a losing cause.😢

  5. Overall it just may have made BOTH teams better. So the whole thing became a sort of love letter by St. Louis: "See you in the playoffs!"

  6. All of us Oilers fans will be sad to see both Holloway and Broberg go, popular players in our fanbase and they were starting to look promising. But I think the front office have done the right thing here. We are not a team that can afford to have young, developing players on large contracts, no matter how talented they may be. We are in win now mode, the only way you're getting a contract that big in Edmonton right now is if you are an immediate impact player who can be relied upon in (hopefully) another cup run. We have to look at the bigger picture, right now the priority is getting Drai signed up and then McDavid and Bouch next year. In a nutshell, this is the best case outcome to a less than ideal situation.

  7. Broberg definitely overrated because of the playoffs. Underlying numbers were not good at all, and only reason more goals weren't scored while he was on the ice was Skinner's play.

  8. As a blues fan it is what it is, but i wont lied im pretty stoked. What gets me is all these oiler fans who think they are gonna waltz right back to the finals. They got waaaay slower and are still one of the oldest teams…only reason you came back in the finals is cuz florida was tired from playing in back to back finals. Lets see what happens.

  9. I think savioe/podz made holloway expendable i mean someone is gonna want that bottom 6 role broberg much less so but with the draisaitl + bouchard contracts coming soon you cant tie up 4.5 on a guy with less than 100 games there is a hole on defense but i dont think its unplugable

  10. 4.5 for a unproven Defenceman is absolutely insane! what a bunch of idiots! The guy spent most of the year in Bakersfield. Hope it bites them in the ass big time.

  11. As an EDM fan I now hate the Blues as much as the Flames. I hope for the next 30 years we offer sheet every Blues RFA to troll them.

  12. After seeing what played out, and after the Oilers are objectionably not as good as they were last season, I have to believe that Draisaitl is going to opt to go to free agency next summer and see what offers are out there. The Oilers are trying to low ball him now for about $13 million, but he's easily going to get near to $16 million. The Oilers weakened their defense significantly, to the point they can no longer dangle the "take less money to win the cup" line in negotiations. Drai is going to get paid now, and it will probably be elsewhere. I personally see him in Nashville next year. Also, if Drai leaves, McDavid will follow. Bad management from top to bottom in Edmonton.

  13. As a blues fan all im going to say is it really depends on how our core group of guys play this season. We’ve been mid the last 2 years. Maybe these 2 guys could probably wake kyrou up and make him consistent. But honestly kyrou is just depressing to watch and over paid imo.

  14. That's why the Oilers are the favorite to win the cup, and the Blues are not. Cap management is the most important thing, overpays like that are never a good idea.
