  1. the worst part is he isnt even wrong in the slightest. in any league where the arizona coyotes didnt exist, we would be talking about the sheer incompetence of the columbus blue jackets year after year. they are, quite literally, the definition of a game on a schedule.

  2. Colombus/Arizona/Buffalo, I feel like those teams will always at the bottom of the standings because of bad management

  3. There should be a rule that disqualify mediocre teams from a top 5 pick if they have too many bad years in a row

  4. i just listened and wow, he didnt hold back… just a game on the sch omf lol

  5. I just want to say: I have always loved Craig Button. This man gets it, a true and genuine man with a great critical thinking mind.

  6. It's not as if Jones, Atkinson and Werensky are these entitled players , they bled for the Jackets. I trust them when they say Laine might of had a questionable attitude. Now was it mental health related probably, but again players aren't social workers or psychologists. Wishing Laine a recovery from his demons.

  7. Is everyone forgetting Laine was in WPG and that thier player leadership group didn't have any fond things to say about him either?

  8. I won't go as far as Button said saying just a date on the calendar but yeah the team has it's share of issues with regards to the Laine situation, Old NHL was players conform to the team, New NHL is both team and players adapt to each other, if you continue with the old school of hockey players will ask to get traded…

  9. Nobody from MTL will say this was a bad deal, only Maple Leaf fans would cause they just happen not to have a Jordan Harris to trade him for. 😂😂😂 at least they kept the same team format for the last 5 years hoping that this year will be their turn for a smell at the cup. Talk about definition of insanity.

  10. "The only thing the CBJ have been since they're in the league is a game on a schedule. They've done nothing since they entered the league in 2000" 😂

  11. Craig Button is an alcoholic his nose is permanently red so of course he’s going to stand up for one of his own.

  12. Be thankful, we get PL, make space for one of our young defenceman and likely a good 2 nd round draft pick to add to the asset list, not so bad.

  13. Building an expansion franchise is tough. Compare the way VGK and Seattle came into the league with how the CBJ came in and you'll understand why this happened

  14. Button's record as GM for the Flames in 2000-2001, the Flames finished 20th out of 30 with a record of 27 wins 15 ties 36 losses and 4 OT losses; in 00-01 Mr Button traded Stillman away to St Louis to acquire Conroy – the first time, not a bad trade except Stillman wins 2 Stanley Cups away from the Flames. But his first trade appears to be trading J S Giguere away to Anaheim and later re-acquires Vernon for 2 seasons play;
    in 2001-02, Calgary finishes 22nd out of 30, with a record of 32 wins-12 ties-35 losses and 3 o/T losses; in 01-02 one of Button's main trades was to acquire Jamie McLennan (back up goalie) after trading away Giguere and reacquiring Vernon; Eric Nystrom was drafted by Button and crew, but doesn't play for Flames until Button's long gone, same with M Lombardi who was drafted in 3rd round of 2002; the end of the 2001-2002 year, Mr Button continues to try and select goaltender, this time for the rights to Curtis Joseph;
    in 2002-03, the Flames finish 22nd of 30 with a record of 29 wins-13 ties-36 losses with 4 o/t losses; the main early season trade for Button is acquiring C Drury-1 season/S Yelle for McAmmond/D Morris/Shantz; then the M Savard for Zainullin who never leaves KHL – this is the bad trade; One of his final trades is him acquiring M Commodore and J P Damphousse and trading away Rob Niedermayer so he can play with J S Giguere in the preceding years to Anaheim winning the Stanley Cup;
    (Elite/NHLTradetracker);

  15. Goes to show that MTL is slowly building a reputation of a place where players are respected, appreciated, supported, and where struggling player can save his career.

  16. At least, Mr Babcock had won a Stanley Cup…. how many did Mr Button win?

  17. yeah i watched it live and i was sweet !! he so right 24 years in thr league 1 round !!! 😄😄 players dont build teams they play on them !!!!!!! props to le boutton !!!!!

  18. They have great fans but are one of two teams (wild) I dont get excited about watching the nucks play. They are just so blah.

  19. So… Anyone remember Don Waddell? Anyone?? The same Don Waddell who, as former Canes Gm had successfully gotten Jesperi Kokaniemi to sign a hostile, unmatched offer sheet, for 6 mil giving up a first rounder, then eventually signing him to a very regrettable 8 year 4.8 mil$ contract? Yeah that Don Waddell… Apparently he's now the blue jackets Gm… "Nice doing business with ya Don… Hope we can do this again n again n again real soonly now"… yeah,.. Wife n kids are fine… Bye Don… Don't call us we'll call you ok??…ok… Buh Bye Don… Mmmm… Buh Bye…. 🙋‍♂
