Les Red Wings de Détroit sont profondément attristés d’apprendre le décès de l’ancien masseur de l’équipe, Sergei Mnatsakanov. Sergei était membre de l’équipe championne de la Coupe Stanley en 1997, qui a apporté la première Coupe Stanley à Hockeytown en 42 ans.
