Where did the Preds pick Askarov?
Fun little observation from today. Mitch Marner was at the Minnesota State Fair today with Justin Holl.
I believe you’re right Steve .Nashville lost this trade , would’ve thought they were going to get more
Appearantly they asked for Owen Beck from Montreal but Montreal said no
Kinda look like Harry Potter under the stairs with that camera angle so close to the wall
…but I wanted your take on the Laine trade!! 😂 Jokes aside, as a Montreal fan, I'm glad those Askarov rumors are put to rest. He's gonna make a great impact in SJ!
I’m still an Askarov believer as a Preds fan but there’s one thing you didn’t point out and that’s the fact that Askarov was pulled in both AHL playoff appearances and replaced long term with a more experienced goalie (although one of those times was maybe due to injury but there’s speculation about that)
Steve last time the Sharks traded a 1st for a goalie it was Martin Jones. They drafted 9th the year before and the pick they sent to Boston was 29th because they lost in the Cup Final after the trade. Trent Frederic was who that pick was so not bad but from thinking you are getting a lottery pick to that team losing in the Cup Final 🤦♂️.
When are trade trees coming back
At first I thought it was the Sharks 1rp.. which will probably be top 5.
I feel like Montréal couldve outbid this if they wanted?
I feel like Nashville will probably move one of their first rounders at the deadline to get a forward and keep the rest of their picks to try and rebuild while still going for it. Sharks are looking like they got the most potential in the league, in 4-5 years they could be unreal
Steve makes that ugly jersey look good
This is actually the worst off-season in a while but W trades
Stick to the leafs you know nothing about the rest of the league.
Barry Trotz is bout to go to another confernece final. and the Islanders arent. stupid islanders…..
Same guy who said sharks fleeced Ottawa for karlsson lmao.
As a Sharks fan, I love this trade. But, it's worth pointing out that if Trotz made this deal with Grier it has to have been the best or one of the best offers. So if the return is disappointing, then tell the other GMs to offer more? Trotz can only get what he's offered, similar to what Grier got back for Meier, and Hertl, and Karlsson. We as fans can always feel that a player may be worth more than what a given deal yields, but the GMs can only go off of what is being offered. And, while Askarov may have yielded more in theory at the deadline, would he really have yielded more if he doesn't play much before then? Or plays worse than he did the last 2 years? Who knows.
SJ future a few years ago went from going nowhere to being top tier prospect pool.
Sharks fan bias but Mike Greier has been cooking since the Meier deal (and looking back at it the trade doesn’t look as bad as it did at the time).
All of these trades are making me wish that we are about to see some trade trees come out from SDPN
Why no Laine trade review?????
