I think they'll fall back down. Never really believe in late season bloomers (well kinda mid-late season). MacK can't possibly build on the season he just posted and I think it'll hurt the team a bit. Can see maybe like 70-75 points from MacK this year. So with that, I have them just getting beat out of a playoff spot by Chicago, and Calgary is also ahead of them (but I have them missing too).
Avs aren't better than the Wild tbh. Nobody outside of Minnesota gives them a chance to get in every year, and yet they make the playoffs every year.
Can Colorado sign/trade for EK? They still need that #1 D. They can be a legitimate threat for the next 4-5 years by getting EK. Maybe trade Maker + Senator's 2019 pick for EK? Or Senator's 2019 pick for EK straight up.
I have them at 4th but even then, if the Avs miss the playoffs because of their division, they will have have 2 lottery picks this year
Zadorov has come a long way and still has room to get better.
Dont forget they also have Connor Timmins coming up!
Bednar had a good year as a coach because he had more than three weeks to meet the team, build a program, get the boys on board…. Dont think I need to go on. Roy royally screwed the 16-17 season.
With Johnson, Barrie, Zadorov, Girard, Cole, Nemeth, Makar, Timmins and Meloche on d, I think the Avs are pretty much set for a long time at the position. They need to build that second line though, hopefully Jost becomes a bonafide top 6 player this year.
You should do a video of players who you think will bounce back from a disappointing season! With that said you helping my withdrawals from hockey!
Colorado Avalanche will be in the same spot as they we're this season. There until the end may get in or just miss.
I would like to know the favorite teams of all "The Hockey Guy" fans because I have a feeling many of them dont watch the Central Division on a regular basis during the season. Its the most competitive, the most unpredictable division. The notion that the Hawks are just gonna lay over and die just because Toews and Keith had bad years is naive. Take lesson from Colorado, they had a god awful season(48 POINTS), didnt change much in the offseason, and the next year bounced back into the playoffs.
I do not see this team being better than the flames this year
Landeskog has been my favorite player since his draft year. He hasnt always been the best player but he plays his heart out
I agree with everything you said just odd that Tyson jost is not on your list
enjoy my Calvert you sobs
Makar and Timmins have the potential to be one of the best Top 2 dmen in the league a few years down the road. They both look legit.
As Czech it saddens me Pavel Francouz, goalie they signed this off-season , is getting zero chances to crack the line-up. I know I might be biased but man…He might be 28 years old, but he's been constantly one of the best goalies of KHL past few seasons and even put some very decent numbers and great performances representing Czechs with mediocre defense at best. With injury prone Varlamov and as number 1 yet unproven Grubauer I think he actually might get a shot and if he does, I hope he kills it.
3rd in the central
The way I see it, Grubauer's play will determine if this team makes the playoffs again. Varlamov can be great but he's too inconsistent because he's not a durable #1 goalie. This team might have made the playoffs on the last game of the season, but they did it with Bernier(from the past sort of journey man goalie that was a #1 goalie in Toronto at one time). If they make the playoffs, they have to play better team defense if they want to advance to the 2nd round.
no tyson jost on top 6?
…There is a reason that GMs tell other GMs "You're not going to get a Sakic Deal"
Neito is by no means a top 6 forward andrighetto is. Also as you said Jost belongs in there instead of neito or Soda. Nemeth is not a top 4 d he is more like 6 or 7 Girard definitely is. I don't see Meloche getting any playing time next year as guys like Lindholm are ahead of him.
where did u get your avs hat ?
the only move i wanna see is Stastny for Soderberg, but like after Paul gets healthy
😊
Here after they won their 1st Round series against Calgary!
I disagree with the placing of every single member of the D top 4 you have, and yes my opinion was the same back when this video came out. I disagree about Z even being on it, though I think he's somewhere in 4-6th.
revisiting this a year later, Sakic clearly watched your video as he adds Kadri and addresses bottom 6 depth/grit, makes way for the young D and have game 7 2nd rnd last season should prove most grub haters wrong. Couple more days for the new Avs video still is it october yet? 🙂
