Nothing is for sure so who knows if Leon signs.
The Oil as a team have a good energy about them. A solid brotherhood of guys who really want to work together and win a lot of hockey. I'm all ready fired up about the coming season.

Fabbro will be better the current #5 and #6 defense in Oilers. Thought the leadership team willing to take less. Unless the oilers are offering way less than Draistle want.

The players mentioned before Fabro are all offensive defensemen so if you are not looking for that then Fabro is the guy. Going to guess Kulak would need to go in the trade or maybe one of the signed right defensemen. They should sign Barrie and trade him back to Nashville. Lol

So what are the trade options to aquire Fabbro? Because I can't see them trading Kulak. Josh Brown + Stecher and a mid prospect or draft picks is the only option I can think of, if Nashville retains over 25% of the contract. But again, Nashville are legit contenders, so I don't see them doing a favor for the Oilers
If Leon is looking for a Cup he likely sees that Edmonton has one more year, this season, as a true contender. I won't be surprised if he doesn't sign till the summer which then begs the question… do we trade him at the deadline to try and avoid another decade of darkness… or do we pray we win it all in 2025?
After this season we won't just be super old … we'll have almost no prospects available to play with Leon and McD as well as little draft capital.
And, Leon and McD are soon to both be post 30.
