I feel better looking back in this, I remember thinking it was a shit prospect pool at the time so it reinforces my confidence in this current pool.
Earliest luck was 22, we were gonna have a shit pool.

Mccarron and tinordi were both nhlers last year.
Although the prospect pool was really really bad. It is funny to see how horny the hockey world was for size even 10 years ago lol

Players weren’t graduating, seemed they all had low ceilings.
Annnnnd the die hards / sycophants were screaaaming about how good the Habs were at drafting and every guy was a steal.

I looked at when we picked these guys. No picks within the top 20 in their draft year. Low chances any of these guys were gonna be difference makers anyway.
And makes me excited we’ve got earlier first-round picks in the group:
Slaf – 1
Laine – 2
Dach – 3
Demidov – 5
Reinbacher – 5
Suzuki – 13
Caufield – 15
Guhle – 16
Late firsts and later rounds gems sprinkled in there as they should be!

It’s pretty telling that the fifth best prospect is a 23 year old dman who « needs more time to develop ».

Martin Reway was suppossed to be what Slaf is rn to slovak hockey. Such a briliant player with such a troubled mind, its quite sad.
Juulsen was unlucky, concussions set back his career. I’m happy he found a way back into the NHL
