  1. Most overrated team in the NHL

Feasted on Sharks, Ducks, Flames, Kraken, beat the Oilers early on in the season before Oilers woke up…

Keep mortgaging futures differentials they can’t keep.

No prospects of note other than 3 maybes

    Clown show

  2. Myers was far more trusted than Zadorov who BTW was never used as a top four dman. I know people who only watched the playoffs think he's some stud, he's not. He's a 20 point bottom pairing dman.
Myers is a top four guy.

Heinen had 17 goals and may play next to JT maybe not, either way he's not overpaid.

I think you need to really watch the way Myers plays and notice the type of minutes he gets.

  3. Debrusk is 100% playing with EP.
You really need to get off the Zadorov train, he's literally a 20 point dman who sucks in his own end and is getting 5 million over six.
I will cut you some slack on your gross miscalculations on Zad and Myers because a lot of nuck fans had playoff blinders as well but man you bitch about Myers at 3, a guy who was our best pker, was given the third most minutes, while Zadorov actually played less here than in Calgary. Also we were first before getting both Lindholm and Zadorov and we were actually worse with them in the lineup.

As for Brock and lack of talks, there's really no way to know because our media is given nothing, there is a long-standing rule put forth by the owner that media gets dick all because of the way they used to gas light the team and the owner around the time of the burke era.

The last anyone really heard was JR saying Brock wants to be here and we want him and he and his agent have not once been a difficult negotiation.

  4. I think Vancouver will settle. Too many 'career years', too many guys on high shooting %. We'll be a 3rd or 4th place in the division, mgmt will do deadline deals to try to push deep in the playoffs.

  5. One thing you left out that is perhaps one of the biggies is how these summer signings went very heavy on speed and penalty killing
    we were 17th last year.

Forbort and Deharnais, were the top pk dmen on their team and Forbort was something like in the 99th percentile.

Heinen and Sherwood are also studs on the pk and all four mentioned are excellent 5on5.

I think you kind of undersold Forbort who brings everything Zadorov brings while being far better in his zone and PK, loves to fight and scores ar roughly the same pace.

Our 4-7 dmen are the biggest in the league, hopefully Soucy stays healthy because him and Myers were dominate together.
    Cheers.

  6. I think if you had of kept Zadorov, you would have had to trade Soucy. You can't really just sub out Zadorov for Myers. Coach T doesn't like defense on their offside, and I think they did try it a bit with both Hughes and Zadorov at some point and it was not good. Otherwise I think everything you said was bang on.

  7. For 15mil in cap canucks brought in
    debrusk
    Henien
    Sprong
    Sherwood
    Deharnaise
    Forbort

Have to wait and see what they do and if the coaching staff can fix some of these players shortcomings like they fixed myers and miller deffensive game but I'm optimistic. Petterson will finally have a top 6 winger to play with and a budding hoglander

  8. I would loved to keep Zadorov but he wanted more term than the Canucks could offer. I do agree with the Myers contract being a little too long for too much. Right now what concerns me the most is the goaltending

  9. Zadorov is gone. Move on. We have. Myers was much better second half of the season. I never swore at my tv while saying his name after Christmas

  10. Podkolzin showed no signs of being even a 4th line player last 2 seasons. His lack of confidence alwaya makes him behind the play and never 2 steps ahead.
Your criticism of Myers is all valid. Realsitic contract for him would have been 2 X 2.5M but him and his agent had leverage on the Canucks cause when he was signed the only right hand dmen we had was Hronek and Myers. Replacing him in free agency would have been costly and he can be an okay 2nd pairing and good 3rd pair defense.
Zadorov was good but he wasnt worth 5M and Canucms already have Hughes and Soucy on the left, Forbort was a great replacement at 1.5M who is better defensively than Zadorov was aswell.
My guess with Deharnais is that management wants him to be the Myers replacement once Myers is gone.
Fair points on Joshua, he also missed almost 20 games with a broken hand. Im glad Canucks kept him.
Heinen contract is fair he is a decent player who should be on the 3rd line and will more than likely get opportunities to play in the top 6.
They more than likely wont shed any bottom 6 contracts as it adds flexibility and the players are good enough where they can be moved up and down the lineup if a shake-up is needed.

I'd give An A-. The only thing I wish they did different was to find a way to get rid of Myers and get a good 2nd pairing puck distributor for his cap hit but oh well

  11. Terrible take on Zadorov.. He has never been a Top 4 dman and never will be.. he thinks he is but he’s not. And at $5M for 6 years is way to much

  12. meyers is playing the best hockey of his career under the new coaching staff. his biggest issue was his positioning. foot and gonchar have turned his game around. i'll put canucks depth scoring up against any team in the league. zadorov knew where he was going to sign long term when he was still in calgary and it wasn't vancouver.

  13. Myers gained a step last year under his new D-coaches. Shades of his earlier days in Winnipeg flashed more often than previous years. I’m okay with the resigning of Myers. I get it, too bad about Big Z, but he seemed to have played better for the playoff Canucks than I ever noticed him in Calgary. Calgary fans would know better. Great video summary of the new Canucks.

  14. I think they should change the training staff, letting Hronek and Petterson play the last half the season with injury….

  15. Signing of Myers, and not being able to keep at least one of Lindholm or Zadorov the two things I think was a mistake by the Canucks.
