« ive got nothing but respect for those guys »
Whilst insulting them and the fanbase lmao
Two faced. I hope the tribute video highlights all the great things he said about Winnipeg
Meh, whatever, fuck that guy.
Being completely honest, I enjoyed watching his game at the WJC and was looking forward to him being a Jet. I haven’t had the same chance to watch Yager with that level of interest, but from what I’ve heard he sounds like the real deal.
Winnipeg isn’t for the faint of heart.
Probably better this, than him be like Kane, PLD, or whoever else is a miserable sack of shit because they need fancy restaurants or gated communities or ‘nice weather’ when they leave the rink.
I do feel for the spouses though.
I don’t understand how he had so much leverage… players should have to play for the team that drafted them if they want to play in the NHL.
I don’t like him.
They really need to remove the NCAA loophole and make these kids sit until they sign with the team that drafted them
Good luck with a aging team in pit clown
« I feel like I’m going to get what I deserve »
Selfish bitch
“I feel like I’m going to get what I deserve”
Which is getting booed before getting laid out by Lowry.
As much as I hate this prick at least he told the jets he wouldn’t sign so we could at least get a good return and not nothing
Get bent mcmuffin
He’s going to pile up some points playing alongside Crosby and Malkin. It’s going to make Jets fans feel like they missed out, but he wouldn’t get those same points playing here. He showed his true character demanding a trade before even playing in the league and we’re better off without him, no matter how many points he piles up playing alongside generational talent. The trade return feels like a pretty equal player coming back too, just without the attitude issue
That “deserve” bit is wild.
Scouts and management of the team should try to assess the willingness of a player to join the team and community. It’s a waste of time otherwise.
Ultimately, I see this as a net positive. Last thing this organization needed is another entitled prick in the locker room. Get rid of everyone who isn’t bought in, because we can’t afford to waste time and assets on douche bags like this that are too used to the silver spoon treatment.
What a loser this guy is
Fuck this guy.
Bad precedent we can barely retain players when you take in well Winnipeg, taxes etc. but good riddance
Tbh, everyone’s talking about how you shouldn’t be allowed to refuse to play on teams coming from NCAA and etc. But if we are all being honest it’s a waste of everyone’s time to have a guy who just clearly doesn’t wanna play. Better off this way
Funny how we live in a free country but we force athletes to work somewhere against their wishes.
How many of you don’t get a choice to work where you want?
The real question becomes how do you get through this entire draft and develop process with a player and have no clue that he never intended to play for your organization. Were there warning signs that were ignored or were they totally conned? Either way doesn’t reflect real well on the Jets organization. Now hopefully they learn a lesson and make the necessary adjustments – you have to draft and acquire players that want to play in Winnipeg.
Lol fuck that guy.
Can’t wait till Truba lines him up when he comes to New York!
Did you hear Mcintyre last week on WST?? He spent time with the family. Sat beside McGroarty’s mother at world juniors. All he heard was Rutger and his family raving about Winnipeg and the organization. As if we need reminding, never take at face value the nice words that come out of someone’s mouth.
I almost never root for players to fail, especially kids. I get this is a business. But honestly and truly fuck this guy and I hope his career is as disappointing as can be.
FIFO. Bye-bye bitch.
This is a person that just says what he thinks people want to hear. PLD2
