1. Let's go Canes! They will take a small step back, but not as dramatic as people think. 3rd in metro division.

  2. Yaniv Perets (top goalie in Quinnipiac University history) did get some action last year against the Kings. However, the Kings got close to zero o-zone time while he was in, so Perets only faced one shot, which he saved.

  3. As a Canes fan, with the loss of Teuvo, Pesce, and Skjei it's gonna be felt. But getting Ghost back and having Neadu and Blake ready to go plus when Jarvis gets locked up long term, the only fear I'll have is the aging guys.

  4. Actually kind of surprised this didnt wait until Jarvis signed but not like it's super different one way or another if it had

  5. Even with a few pieces lost in the offseason, the Canes should be one of the top teams in the Metro again. The question, as always, is can the Canes finally figure out how to win a Conference Final game again?

  6. Hurricanes are going to be alright next season. People are overreacting to them losing pieces, sure what they lost hurts to lose and are meaningful players, but most of the great parts of the team are still there. I'm very excited to see more of Kochetkov and seeing Ghostisbeher back. This is Necas' year to shine.

  7. Reg season warriors. Playoff Flops. I given up on them during playoffs until they can either A) not get swept in ECF B)make SCF. They arent better than the Devils, rangers. Great coach but system doesnt work. WC at best.

  8. Having Svech back at full health will be huge and Necas will step up with increased ice time on this contract.

  9. The local rumor is Jarvis is looking at 8 year $8mil/season (which obviously doesn't make sense with the current cap space so who knows).

  10. Some talent is definitely gone. I expect a weaker team, but Brinda'mour and the core is still good. 3rd in the Metro with 99-104 points.

  11. I think Carolina's Cup chances this season were overrated last season, underrated for this coming season, and I agree the two or three seasons after might be their best chances with Aho and Svech.

  12. Jack Drury is NOT a 2C!!!!! He is a really good defensive forward but has ZERO offensive upside! He is a 4C! It was a coaching fail to have him at 2C in the playoffs Vs the Rangers. Drury did nothing to help Necas. Martinook should have stayed n a line with Staal. By removing Martinook and putting him with Drury and Necas, it gave the Canes only one offensive line. Turbo and Jarvis with Staal also took away the best checking line in the NHL being Martinook Staal anf Fast (Fast was injured but could have been replaced with Noesen). The Canes were missing that relentless four check against the Rangers. The fourth line of KK Kuzy And Noesen was a line of left overs. Basically you had one good line of Svech Aho and Guenzal. Turbo Kuzy and Necas would have given you offence and with Turbo defensive ability. KK Drury Jarvis could have sparked both Drury and KK as they have worked well. Most NHL teams checking line is your fourth line. Let's face it the Staal line is a checking line. I was very confused with the lines RBA put together against the Rangers.

  13. Keep an eye on Ryan Suzuki. He has had really good preseasons the last two years but has been injured in both. Honestly he came into camp last year in better shape than Drury and looked a lot better in the games. He was taken out by a dirty hit Vs the Lightning. This year he has put on some needed muscle. I see him as a surprise and maybe he gets the shot he has deserved. Man I forgot about Jost. Also don't forget Skyler Brind'Amour will be on a PTO. Most likely get a two way deal and go to Chicago. Some of the new players like Robertson and maybe jost will hit the waiver list. If they clear they will start in Chicago.

  14. Canes fan here, unfortunately the team’s upside this year is 3rd place in the Metro. Last season was definitely “the year” to get it done and now the team will see regression for the next couple seasons before they’re ready to be a true threat.
