  1. Hey guys, this is Justin (Eck) here. I was not available to record today but I thought it was important that we get something up, so I had Zack record this. RIP Johnny and Matt.

  2. I remember seeing him play (on tv) vs the ducks during that playoff series. That kid was so good. RIP

  3. I never really feel touched by the passing of an athlete or celebrity, but this one DID hurt. Johnny Hockey was the Hockey version of Christian Pulisic. He was the first of a new generation of **Americans** playing the sport at a high level, finally bringing our country up to par with Russia and Canada in regards to being a first rate hockey nation. But more than that, he truly did play with joy, and you could feel it through the TV, glass, or radio. No matter how you followed, you would love Johnny Hockey.

Even as a Rangers fan, I will never forget that snipe past Frederick Anderson when the Flames played the Ducks in the playoffs.

    RIP Johnny.

  4. $1000 donation to men's mental health for every goal he scored from Feb '22 on.

    whatta fuckin beauty.

  5. As a huge oilers fan, I was so shocked when I saw this and this sucks alot to see Johnny and his brother Matthew Gaudreau passed away and I liked watching Johnny Gaudreau play, I don't like the Flames as I'm a oilers fan but I'm just shocked and very upset about this and it really sucks and I'll pay my respects, they will never be forgotten and will always be remembered by all!!! R.I.P Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. "Here's Johnny!!"

  6. I just woke up and I literally cannot believe what I am hearing. Rest In Peace Johnny and Matthew.

  7. Just saw news of this few hours ago and couldn't believe it at 1st!!? Such a tragedy to lose such a great player and person!! RIP Johnny hockey and his brother Matt!!!

  8. Heartbreaking news. And to hear they were together for their sister’s wedding scheduled today, I just can’t fathom what that family is going through.

  9. As an oilers fan who originally started watching the battle of alberta games in 2014 that made me a fan of the nhl I loved watching Johnny gaudreau play even as an oilers fan back then he was one of my favorite players as I could see his love for the game and the love he had for his teammates. He will be missed RIP to a G.O.A.T 🕊🕊🕊

  10. I saw this on the news while I was at the gym after work. It's really tragic that you can be doing something so normal, so routine and end up losing your life in that way as a result of someone's poor decisions. I don't know Johnny personally nor did I get to see him play since I'm still a relatively new hockey fan (got into the sport April of 2023) and I haven't seen a lot of Columbus Blue Jackets games. However, I'm sure many of you who have been hockey fans longer than I have and have seen more Blue Jackets games than I have probably have a lot of great stories about him making great plays, being a good person, and just doing what he loves (playing hockey).

I also can't imagine losing two people at the same like this. It must be absolutely horrible to receive news like that. If there's hockey in Heaven, I bet they're both up there playing. I pray the family gets the support they need, whatever that may be. Rest in peace, Johnny and Matt.

  11. Rip johnny and Matthew and all prayers to the gaudreau family 🕊️🕊️🕊️😭😭😭

  12. this shit is so gut wetching i hope the driver faces justice and the family can find closure. RIP Jhonny and Matthew

  13. Crazy thing is, we feel better now paying the drunk driver millions of US dollars to undergo a relatively needless trial. Guy ran down two bicyclists and killed them. He was caught red handed, with witnesses and plenty of dashcam video. The US has a strange way of punishing victims, their families, and their peers.

  14. Hearltbreaking 😥 I loved watching Johnny play the game. RIP to Johnny Hockey and his brother Matthew as

  15. My favorite Gaudreau story was when he tried to deposit his first game check in an ATM and Kevin Hayes was like no bud that’s not how it works

  16. "People" who get high or drunk while driving are really the worst, up there with the preds, abusers, pdf files, etc..
Poor family; they lost TWO loved ones at the same time in such a tragic manner. My heart goes out to them…

  17. Hopefully we get some clear facts and disclosure from police on what happened soon. At first I thought the Gaudreaus were the ones drunk driving, but now it seems like they were hit by a drunk driver.
