    >he had an excellent shooting percentage at 17.6% (also a career-high). Another statistic that has onlookers optimistic was his Corsi rating. This was also a career-high value, specifically his CF% Rel at 7.6.

A career high shooting % if often the sign of a regression in goal scoring the next season. Also, Newhook’s CF Rel is actually negative. This article took the CF% rel from Natural Stat Trick at *all strength.* When looking at on-ice stats from NST, it’s important to keep the default setting at 5v5. Otherwise, you’re mixing up special teams, resulting in players who play exclusively on the PP with great Corsi while PK players have terrible Corsi. Newhook doesn’t play on the PK, only the PP so that’s why is CF% Rel is good.

The article also used all game states when looking at points per 60. Again, when looking at points per 60, it’s standard to separate between even strength and special teams.

Regardless, Newhook did great offensively at even strength; only Joshua Roy had more points per 60 than Newhook (even strength). There is room for improvement on the PP though; only 3 primary points despite playing 161 minutes on the PP.

It is difficult to see through the confounding factor like just adding more ice time, but it does appear that last year he was trending positively in both those areas you suggest, offensive generation and capitalization. It is just my prediction that given his assumed role in 24-25 that he will be more efficient, on top of more total generation. All would culminate to a positively trending projection of points.

He has little options other than 3rd line next year, and honestly I want to see him there. The line he centered with Gally and Armia was pretty damn good and I want to see more. CC, Slaf, Suzuki, Dach, Laine, and Roy are likely your top 6 until Demidov arrives. That 3rd line could be super interesting in the interim.
