I have a couple of the same jersey new with tags that I bought half price when he left town. I’m considering selling them for $200 each. Would you consider that reasonable? I don’t want to be that guy either.

I know everyone is upset about this stuff. But unless you are willing to spend that kind of money for a jersey, it shouldn’t upset you. Pieces of art, or books, go for much more than they were originally worth, once the artist has passed. No need to be outraged by it.
Likely not a Game Worn either. Bro photoshopped the background out – likely to protect against reverse image searching the original photo he ripped, and the jersey should have a tag with confirming it was Game Worn with the Equipment Managers’ signature on it.
$1500 is also pretty a standard ask for a GW jersey for a player of Johnny’s level, outside of extenuating circumstances of course. With recent circumstances, the valuation of the jersey is way below market.
Would not be surprised if they’re just trying to fleece someone on a Retail Adidas Indo, and that’s a big *if* the picture in the listing is his own.

Noticed this on ebay as well, pulled the trigger on a signed jersey a few days before this all happened. Checked on the status and noticed I was refunded, messaged the seller to inquire why and they said they sold it earlier on Marketplace and forgot to take down. Then a few days later I notice same seller is listing same jersey for starting bid $1500. Eat shit john-bea-26.

I have been seeing some Gaudreau jerseys on eBay and FB Marketplace immediately marked for about $300 after the news; it has made me incredibly infuriated, that’s for sure. If I’m gonna spend $300, it would be towards a charity to fight against drunk driving rather than to these goobers.
