  1. I think Robertson didn't get enough ice time. I want to remind that Keefe was always out coached in the playoffs. Having said that he could be a trade piece.

  2. Not resigning Robertson would be a mistake. In limited role, he made more of an impact than any UFA available and could ink him at comparable rate. No need for signing aging vets who we will delusionally rely on for similar points to Robertson. Treliving and Berube should talk this over and give the guy an honest chance in middle 6 role. We know he will work his tail off and Berube loves those types so give him a fair shot and fair value 1 year prove yourself deal.

Also do not understand why we would put Max on 3C. He was excellent when paired with Matthews. Here's how forward group would line up best:

    Domi – Matthews – Nylander
    Knies – Tavares – Marner
    Robertson – Jarnkrok – McMann
    Holmberg/Dewar – Kampf – Reaves

  3. I think it’s so bad that Robertson just wasn’t given the ice time that he deserved last season. I looked at the stats (average per ice time minute) for points and goals last season and Robertson beats Jarnkrok, Holmberg, Kampf, Dewar. On the ice, he works hard all the time – you see the passion when he’s chasing down the puck or shooting it. I agree, he has an amazing shot, it’s a one-time, bullet and he puts his shoulders into it. You don’t see that from Jarnkrok, Kampf, Holmberg, Dewar. What is the point in keeping this guy, working him through his injury problems and then when he seems to have that fixed, not using him. Look at it from his perspective, his brother is so obviously valued by his team – I’d feel as he does

  4. I actually don't think Keefe is a major factor tbh. Obviously how he was used is a component, but if Keefe was the primary issue Robertson should have been open to signing after Keefe was fired. It seems moreso like Robertson is just angry about the fact his contract situation and being waiver exempt made him the yo-yo between the AHL and NHL to make the cap work. Nick is a good player and I've been a fan, but this situation is dripping with entitlement.

  5. The Leafs were second in the entire league in scoring last season, no? This idea that they need Robertson’s scoring is such a fallacy. He was pointless and -2 in the Boston series. He’s a defensive liability and often looks lost in his own zone. Playing him more will only mean a bit more regular season scoring and getting owned by contenders in the postseason. What Toronto needs is reliable two-way play and net-front presence in the playoffs. This is from a Panthers fan who saw his own team go from a flashy scoring team that couldn’t win in the playoffs to one that could contend.

  6. Yeah he maybe deserved better last season and hes probably better than patch at this point but if he's not even willing to fight for a spot and impress a new coach is that someone you want in the locker room? At this point Treliving shouldn't negotiate with him anymore and tell him to sit at home until a fair trade is worked out.

  7. Actually according to this general Manager role creative his position Brad Treliving , GM I would stand out contract PTO argeement player get involve with Max Pacioretty in Toronto could help that conversation would make sense perfect fit for him their to pairing center position & with Austin Matthews his interest, I would accept it his provel

  8. So if Robertson does not have a contract and he is upset that he was not used alot under Keefe so now the Leafs have a new coach and what is Robertsons problem now so everything should be ok now so free up some money and sign him

  9. Max Pacioretty on the 4th line will definitely push the Leafs over the edge this year…that's what they were missing the last 7 years…Max Pacioretty playing 6 minutes a night

  10. it wont come back to bite them cause he dosent want to be here to begin with, you dont trade him til you get the going rate or he can sit without a contract, the Leafs are in controll here not Robertson,, he will be a 30 goal scorer on a Anahiiem or San Jose. just make sure you trade him to a western conf team. BY the way today is my 58 th birthday, i was born on labour day as today in 1966 = i love my Leafs thru thick or thin and the trolls can kiss my azz.

  11. I’m with Edna on this. Was never a huge fan of Robertson, but he does have a great shot. Think he really needs to do more. His size is an issue.

  12. I don't wanna see no max domi on the first line and max is sure to get injured early on. Steer clear of signings like this

  13. If your team is still looking for a top 9 Forward this close to Training Camp, you are not a serious contender. Not only are the Leafs short there, they are also short a 3rd line Center….a top 4 Dman that isn't on the wrong side of 33….and a true #1 Goalie. Good luck Leafers….you'll need a lot.
