Detroit "should" have made the playoffs the last two years, and would have save for the 10 or so game streaks they went on each of the last two seasons where they completely fell on their face. Last season Detroit goes 5-10-0 in Dec, and completely collapses in March with a record of 3-10-1. Detroit goes say .500 both those months they add 12 points putting them at 103 and 3rd in the Atlantic.
Getting rid of Skinner could be the boost Sabres needed. Yes, they lost a player that scored goals. But they gave up more goals than scored when Skinner was on the ice. A career minus 130 player. Just getting a player that even remotely plays a 200ft game could benefit the Sabres. Also why Skinner was pushed down the lineup. Then without other top players to carry him. He disappeared.
Unfortunately I just dont see any of these teams making it again. I'm still not sold on Detroit in particular, they just seem so average… Sens and Buffalo seem to have more potential, but consistently fail to deliver. The Atlantic is just too stacked at the minute!
The other key word for Talbot is 'Edmonton', when the wheels were turning that offense was near unstoppable.
L, O, and L
i dont know when buffalo is going into the playoffs, they got major issues attracting players. the core players they have, need to step up, and play at 120%.
The top 4 teams in the Atlantic last season will repeat as the top 4 teams again this season. So none of the three teams will make the playoffs. In the 25-26 season there will be a new top 4.
I hope Shannon is wrong in saying Detroit is "just hoping to make the playoffs". That is a very unacceptable goal for a team. The only successful year is when you win the Cup.
no
no
yes
Yeah! Inside Out magnet
Detroit has to be in finally… no more excuses .. with quality players they have… Detroit will add prestige to the playoffs, just like in old days. Having said that… GO AVS ❤️
Buffalo bought out a guy who averaged 33 goals per season the last three years and still have not replaced him. Buffalo gave Washington a 2nd round pick for a player when they could have offersheeted the same player at the no compensation tier. As long as Kevyn Adams and his amateurs are there the Sabres will remain a bottom feeder.
Bowen Byram was awful as a Sabre. Awful. He may be great this year, but he sucked from game #3 as a Sabre to the end of the year.
Let's see:
Florida – Playoffs
Toronto – Playoffs
Boston – Playoffs
Tampa – Playoffs
Yeah, Shannon, there's no room at the inn for these three poverty franchises.
habs will leapfrog all 3 tbh
Put sabres and senators in the playoffs for the last 2 years and red wings in last year… I'm not getting fooled thrice. Devils and canadiens will be 7th and 8th for the East
I kinda root for Buffalo as a Canucks fan. Our Eastern expansion brothers of suffering 😂
Expected by who!? 🧐🤨
I have a hard time believing the wings will make the playoffs with that aging blue line and their average goaltending
Wings need to sign Seider and trade Raymond for a legitimate right shot defenseman. Right now Petry is on the second pair and that's not good enough. Raymond is replaceable but need another right shot defenseman.
Sabres will make it. I don’t know how, but the bottom six and Lindy Ruff will make it happen. Am I a delusional Sabres fan? Probably. But saying the contrary would just be business as usual. A playoff berth is gonna happen eventually.
Where are the Habs?
Out of the 3 teams I pick Buffalo with the new coach Ruff back
