Patrice Bergeron ….a mid-level player that feels right is JVR, he always scored 20-25 goals, except a few nice deflections, none were highlight reel material lol

Rask. Some bruins don’t like him because he could never get over the hump, and he didn’t make flashy saves like Thomas, but he was always in the right place and statically he was one of the best ever.

Phil Kessel….was a hotdog on the ice and ate tons of them off the ice…and was still an iron man ..

I feel like a good current comparison would be Kopitar.

My favourite player, Mike Fisher. He’s not gonna get you 80+ points a year, but my god was he able to do whatever his team needed him to go out and do on the ice, there are lots of great examples, maybe better players than him, but Fish was a guy you wanted on your team

All you need is really good ice cream and a really good cookie. They are beautiful thing

I’ll give a whole class of players, defensive responsible possession driving centers.
Kopitar, O’Reilly, Bergeron, Barkov, Toews, etc

Locally here it’s Backstrom. Absolutely no flash to his game, but just held it down rock solid for 15+ years.

Personally I’ve always seen Steve Yzerman this way. When I grew up watching him, it was after his very flashy years in the early 90s. He wasn’t the best goal scorer in the league, he wasn’t even the best goal scorer on his own team, he was just a leader and a workhorse who lead his team to 3 cups.
