  1. Quality is a little rough at times in this video, it'll be slightly better in the next 2 parts. This footage is rare, gotta take what you can get.

  2. When I was like 15 early during the Red Wings start of the 95/96 season at first I was a bit skeptical when Ray Sheppard got traded to San Jose for Igor Larionov but in the end it turned out to be a great trade.
Although I regret not seeing Ray Sheppard be a part of the Wings cup when they won it the following year.

  3. 17:55 It's funny to think of this team being in a "transition period" or struggling at all because they won 62 games, but they started the season 5-5-2. They were just crazy good the rest of the way.

  4. IMO, I think the REAL reason the Wings won an NHL-record 62 games in 1995-96 was mostly because the team was still enraged over getting swept by the New Jersey Devils in the 1995 Stanley Cup Final (still one of the worst playoff losses in team history). I also believe that the record-setting season also may have cost them the 1996 Stanley Cup, not just because of the enormous pressure they put on themselves to win, but also because they might have tired themselves out by winning all those games. They really didn't have much left in the tank when the '96 playoffs began.

  5. @awood40 Can you do the 1997-98 regular season highlights, the first year of Ken Daniels when you get a chance?

  6. Nothing like playing as my created player 99 overall as a right wing with fedorov at center and yzerman at left in nhl 96 on sega Genesis. Created all my friends 99 overall and put them on random teams. So much fun. Those mid 90s nhl games were 🐐
