Between Hutson wanting to learn the city and Fowler wanting to learn French. I could be persuaded to not accept the job offer I got last Friday….

Heartwarming. Good that the younger generation cares more

  3. Côté hockey, ça n’a pas d’importance, mais ça démontre quand même qu’il connait le marché et qu’il ce voit ici à long terme.

Goalie just wants to score goals.

God damn the future looks bright

  5. I am really hyped about Fowler. Can’t wait to see what he is cooking this season.

I have been a Habs fan for a while. I’ve heard that goal a few times. I’d love for a player who says that to actually end up fluent enough to answer press questions in French.

Markov was probably the last guy who learned French, but no one knew. Hell, he pretended he didn’t know English either, so he’d be left alone.

  7. Of course… Don’t they all say this on the first year? Then years later, we hear them say a scripted line or two in either a McDonald’s or Tim Horton’s ad and that’s it.

Good for him if he actually does but at this point, reading declarations like this doesn’t mean anything to me anymore.

Is Bob Gainey the last player to have actually went from words to action and actually learn and speak french? He may have learned french before joining the Canadiens, I can’t remember.
